I was at the game last night, at managed to score seats right behind the UT bench. One thing that stuck out to me was the fact that we had so many current (and former) walk-ons among our 70 man travel roster.

46-Arnold (DB)
87-Carter (WR)
53-Carr (long snapper)
3-Drummer (holder)
59-Giampapa (backup long snapper)
42-Brodus (backup kicker)
65-Gilliam (OL)
59-Grieco (LB)
9-Juin (DB)
6-Page (QB/backup holder)
76-Simcox (OL)
82-Stocstill (TE)
24-Summerhill (RB)
13-Swafford (DB)
35-Toney (DB)
80-West (WR)

These guys are certainly VFL, but is there any wonder why we have issues when we can't even field more than 54 (non-redshirted, non-injured) scholarship players? In fairness, I believe we were redshirting about 10 players this year.

Obviously, our specialists should go to preserve continuity in the kicking game. But look at the other positions....

Some of those players who were walk-ons received scholarships...believe Toney, Swafford, Drummer, Arnold and maybe Carr have scholarships...may be wrong.

May have "earned" schollys but most if not all are not SEC caliber players. God bless em, just is what it is.

And yet there are some arguing we're a more talented team than one (or maybe both) of the teams playing in the SEC Champ game.

Swafford stands out of that group. I'm not saying he is 1st team SEC, but he has contributed this year.
