Travis Henry, RB BUF

News: The Jacksonville Jaguars are close to a trade that would land the team Travis Henry. Head coach Jack Del Rio told the team's official website a deal for Henry could be completed "in the next few days or week."

Analysis: This potential deal means Fred Taylor's knee is an issue for this season. It also vaults Henry's value on rank lists.

I want Travis in Nashville.

Reese, get off your butt and give up that 3rd draft pick.

Travis could be an every down back for the Titans. He's tough, which Chris Brown isn't, and he wants the ball.

The Titans are headed for medicority if Reese doesn't start making some better choices.

Chris Brown has health issues but that does not mean he is not tough, and while I am a BIG Henry fan, he was beaten up with the way he runs in Buffalo and as much as I would like to see Travis come to Nashville he is not a guy who has another four or five pro bowl type seasons left in him. Why give up a third rounder for a guy who A. will be a free agent after this season, and B. is not someone you can build a future around? Chris Brown when healthy is an ELITE back in the NFL, and even though I agree the titans need to adress the backup RB issue, Henry is not the answer for a team in rebuiling mode and needs young players who will be around by the time they make another run.

Futher on the subject, I lived in Jacksonville the past 3 years and there is no way Henry will come straight in and start over Fred. Too many people in jacksonville praise taylor like a god. He is one of the center pieces of their team and if he doesnt start henry will have to show some extreme stuff. As much as I like travis henry, I dont think that Jack del rio has the balls to move him ahead of taylor. But that is just my opinon.

Henry is not being looked at as a starter for the Jags or the Titans. He is considered an insurance policy because both Taylor and Brown have health questions. Brown seems to be injury prone and Taylor is coming off a major knee surgery that the Jags advertised as minor last year. Henry would be a great addition in a backup role for either team, But at this point the Jags are willing to give up more for TH than the titans given the apparent severity of Taylor's injury.

"Tough" players learn how to play hurt.

Eddie Brown was tough.

Larry Csonka was tough.

Steve McNair is tough.

Chris Brown is a nifty back who can't play hurt.

In my book that's what makes a player tough.

Of course he has a certain degree of toughness, but just making to the league and starting does not qualify for what I consider tough.

I just heard Reese has uped the antie to a 3rd round pick.

Hopefully this will get it done.

I believe Travis will earn the starting position if given the chance.

His numbers overall were better in Buffalo than McGhee's.

That was my only point! He gets a deal out of Buff, and finds a home with a better opportunity. Wasnt Taylor, a Gator?

Steve McNair is overrated. I said it. He's got a hang nail and plods along going 4-12

If anything McNair has been underrated most of his career. He has played through injuries that most QB's would not have even suited up with. The type of injuries he has played with have been for the most part very serious, many of which required sugery. The man has had to recover from surgeries almost every off season the past couple of years. How many QB's these days would pop a dislocated finger on thier throwing hand back into place, tape it up, and go back in?

I also heard he offered a third rounder. If he was going to give that up, he should have done it a month ago and this would be done. Now that the jags are in the mix, Buffalo has a stronger hand to play with. I don't know if it is worth a third rounder given Henry's contract situation, but if they were going to make the move they should have already pulled the trigger.

He won't earn it staying in Jacksonville. Fred Taylor would have to get put out for the season for that.
