I still think Luck's a strong candidate. The changing attitude among the media went from impossibly high expectations to disappointment/might not even be the top pick in the draft and now to "Maybe we were expecting too much, this guy's still really damn good and probably the best player in the country."

I don't know why people can still have statement games against ND, but it's still the case.
