Treon Harris is the starter.

This is encouraging to me in respect to our game. I was under the impression via a friend that's a UF fan that Grier was clearly better.

Now Treon is named the starter and IMO isn't a great QB. Encouraging.

Just saw them show some of his highlights on SEC Now.

He throws an awful lot of ducks.

Either way it seems to eliminate the supposition that Grier is clearly better.

Then you would play him against New Mexico St. and not against the good teams right?

I mean they're favored by 35. If there's a time for live reps it's now.

I'm not sure how anyone can say this is good news . Kid lit us up last year

Florida could've played Hillary Clinton and lit us up last year. It just doesn't matter, as long as they're in a UF jersey, they will win.

I'm wouldn't say lot us up anyways. He took over on short fields. He was already in field goal position. So his mobility moved it a little but long drives he was a joke right? That's the way I remember it.

Look at the rest of the year. Not very good. One of those things... They didn't gameplan him and got burned.

Also didn't have Dobbs at this level. We'd have scored more than 9.

She might actually make a pretty good d tackle...might be difficult to move once she hunkered down in the hole .... lot of weight in her lower half, what with those tremendous "kankles" and whatnot.

Treon Harris named starting Quarterback

Why is this encouraging? According to some on VN, Harris came into the game last year against us and absolutely destroyed us. I mean he looked like a Heisman winnng QB whose stats were some of the best we have seen in the modern era. We should be extremely worried that Harris is the starter.

No.. Not worried.. Would be if Grier comes in for Harris.. He would be Heisman against us.. See how that works

Most Florida fans are surprised with the pick, no doubt, as the insiders (from what little they've been allowed to see at practice which is only about 15 minutes per practice) have said they thought Grier was better in their opinion.

But Mac came out and said yesterday that Treon Harris elevates the play of those around him, and based on how Florida's season went last year, i can buy that.

He helped UF come from behind to beat UT last year obviously, he was 4-2 as a starter and outside of a special teams meltdown against South Carolina, would have been 5-1. The team was obviously better once he started playing, but many thought he wouldn't be a good fit for Mac's offense.

Mac has also come out and said Will Grier will split the reps against New Mexico State, so some alabama fans are saying that Mac is about to pull a sims/mccarron and just start Will Grier in game 2 and that'll be the end of it.

I don't know if I buy it though. Treon was a 4 star QB, he is plenty talented, and extremely shifty. He also does a pretty good job taking care of the football, he only threw 4 INT to 9 TD last year. He also won state championships in the toughest division in Florida. He is tough and a gamer, and with all of Florida's troubles this year, could legitimately be the best option for the offense.

We'll see.

It's encouraging because from just about all accounts Grier has looked much better than Harris in spring and fall camp.

I hope this is a motivational ploy to get Grier focused.

The reports out of fall camp have been based on 15 minute sessions that reporters have been able to watch from periodic open practices. The reality is, we don't know much.

Please post the stats where Harris lit us up. Here is what i came up with: 2/4, 17 yds, zero TDs, 4/24 rushing zero TDs. If thats considered lighting us up, then every QB we played last year absolutely shredded us.
