I couldn't believe my ears, but Trev just admitted he screwed up when he picked A&M to blow us out. He also gave CPF credit for having the team ready to play after the previous 2 bowl debacles.

He is just about the only one. The "others" hardly said a thing. Trev will give Tennessee credit when it is due.

I want it on the record, our coaches got it done this game. Funny how contract negotiations affect coaching. I think our staff "coached" our guys how to perform better due to poor previous bowl performances, the need for improved fooball fundamentals in many spots and the aforementioned contract issues. This game sets the groundwork for continued improvement and a great next year. Great game to all facets, Go Vols! :3cheers:

I believe the coaches approached this bowl game differently in terms of discipline and focus too. The team actually had a curfew and I didn't hear of a single player getting into any trouble.

Did any one see where the three ESPN guys, Trev included, handed out their helmet stickers? Six bowl games, three commentators giving two each, and somehow a UT player still doesn't get one. How, you might ask? Trev gave a sticker to the officials for calling lots of penalties. :espn:

. . . . thus continuing the Lee Corso tradition. I hope he continues to pick against us. In fact, I'd hang a big huge picture of him making one of his ridiculous faces in our locker room for inspiration. Maybe one of him putting on a Gator mask or a Georgia helmet. (I'd say an elephant head, but even Lee knows not to pick Bammer over us, anymore.)

Or, even better yet, how about miniature pee-deflectors with his likeness in each urinal?

:corso: :bottom:

all i can say is f*** the vol fans, critics and "sports analizers" who picked the aggs over UT. Shame shame.

i'll post some pics from the game tomorrow. it was a beautiful thing that happened and im glad i was there.

Don't forget that Herbstreit has shown us love in the past. He picked UT as the best game atmosphere and picked us to beat Aub in the first game this year.

While we don't get all the respect we should, I think every team feels they are being slighted. Here in Bammerville, an announcer could say 99% good about Bama but what would be remembered is the 1% bad or neutral - another example of the conspiracy. Bottomline, these guys just yap but if they really knew what was going to happen, they'd be calling their bookies. Screw em.

Agreed - It's fashionable to bash ESPN, but honestly I think they do a pretty good job. Trev Alberts and Rece Davis both praised Tennessee and Rick Clausen Saturday night. And let's face it . . . when you play in a blowout bowl game the same day as a couple of BCS games, you're not going to get much airtime.

Pretty ironic that as much as much as we bash ESPN - every single SportsCenter opens with an overhead shot of a Lady Vol going up for a jump ball.

Yeah, but in the case of ESPN, words speak louder than actions.

As much as they praised Rick, they didn't give him a helmet sticker at the end of gameday final. Nobody from our team had one. I think that Tennessee and the Aggies were the only football helmuts not up there. I think that is messed up. It is all about the helmet stickers. I agree about the BCS bowl thing. We should have been in a better bowl. I hope LSU got what they wanted in our Capital One Bowl.

I saw a rerun that episode... The only thing that got to me was the lack of a helmet sticker. But other than that, I was not offended by it. They showed limited highlights because it was on an opposing network, showing extensive highlights from somebody else is something ESPN does not like to do. And the Gameday guys DID give us props on the win. Other than a helmet sticker, which I think are relatively menial, I don't know what else you could ask for.

And let's face it, most guys would be bored out of their minds without ESPN.

I've never liked Corso.....But I'm with some of you guys who want him to keep picking against us...It give us more motivation and somehow just about every time he picks against we win and we make him look like an idiot...so keep picking against us Corso! LOL
