Don't worry, both Allgaier and Bayne will have something to drive next year. Allgaier is a good driver and Bayne may be the next big thing once he gets in some good equipment. I hope Roush gets Bayne, because Ragan is not getting it done and someone needs to bring that 6 car back to relevance.

I agree.

Also they are saying he could be out as soon as next week, that's when the team is scheduled to talk about his future. He claims he is already a free agent since the team didn't take his option on September 15th.

David Ragan has been pitiful.

He is consistently 4th of the Roush entries, the only one not in the Chase, the only one never in the Chase. I guess that's not the consistency that you want in a driver.

I bet UPS is kicking themselves for not staying with MWR and the #00 team...

You couldn't really blame UPS for the decision to leave MWR for Roush at the time, though. MWR was still in its infancy, missing about as many races as they were making, and I believe the year before they signed on to sponsor Ragan was when he just missed out on making the Chase.

I heard about this on Monday. I don't think he would be smart to go. He will get some cup opportunites for MWR next season. Roush is full. Ragan is a possibility, but next season even in the Busch Series he won't be getting the number 1 stuff like he is at MWR.

The reason he would be going is because he doesnt have a guaranteed ride full time next year, If Jack Roush offers a full ride then it would be very smart to go plus there 3rd best equipment is better than MWR's best in Cup and Nationwide

Beat me to it.

Bayne not having a ride would be a travesty when you consider his potential with those who do have rides. He is talented on the track, very articulate off and has sponsor appeal.

I read on another board awhile back the cap rule only applies to cup. That was just from another poster, nothing official.

He just signed with RFR and will race the #17 Ford this weekend and will finish the year with RFR. No word on what other cars he'll be in to finish out '10 in though. He is also being considered for the #19 RPM in Cup as well.

I have a quick question though, how can RFR field 5 entries? I thought the cap per team was 4 cars.

Trevor Bayne signs with Roush Fenway Racing, being considered for Sprint Cup ride at Richard Petty Motorsports | NASCAR News Now - SceneDaily.com

The deal is for Nationwide, where RFR only fields two or three entrees.

Braun ran 5 cars at Charlotte last year. That's when I first learned of the no cap rule in Busch and Truck.

Bayne confirms he has a full-time deal with Roush for next year. I hate Roush Racing, but I love Trevor has a deal.

He was on Nascar Sirius radio yesterday morning and he seemed excited. I hope he can make the show and get a pretty solid finish in it.
