I wish I could attend this...:

Trevor Bayne To Be Honored With Hometown Rally In Tennessee
by Jeff Gluck • Feb 24, 2011 4:31 PM EST

Trevor Bayne is coming home as a Daytona 500 winner.

Bayne will be honored in his hometown of Knoxville, Tenn. on Monday afternoon with a downtown rally, where he will have his first chance to greet his longtime friends and supporters. Bristol Motor Speedway will co-host the event, which is being held in Knoxville's Market Square from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

This will be Bayne's first visit back to Tennessee since winning the Daytona 500. Since the race, he's traveled to media appearances at ESPN's Connecticut studios, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

He'll pull double duty in both the Cup and Nationwide race at Phoenix, then return home for the rally.

Bayne has become an overnight celebrity since winning the 500, and has drawn attention from the national mainstream media for his success.

Bristol is also introducing a $100 "Bayne Backer" ticket package, which includes a Bayne T-shirt, a ticket to a question-and-answer session with the driver and a ticket in a section of Bayne supporters at the upcoming Jeff Byrd 500.

I hope LOTS ofpeople show up to support Trevor!

I might switch up and get the "Bayne Backer" package. I'll be going if I'm not in Charlotte that weekend.

it's amazing to me that they have enough empty seats available, one month before the race, to put together a whole section for people to sit in.

scalpers will be giving them away in a few weeks.

I wonder how big a "section" it is? I am guessing a couple hundred seats. Would this be considered exploiting?

The ticket sales have to be down, I haven't got one room rented, and many others are the same.

I wonder how empty it will be.

As always, I'm looking for tickets but probably won't pay anymore than 2 for 1 if you know anybody.

Just the same guy as last year who is still trying to get face value, not likely.

Knoxville's newest commodity is apparently even hotter than anticipated.

In the hours after announcing plans for Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne's homecoming, event organizers were flooded with responses and interest in celebrating his unexpected victory last Sunday.

So just one day after the party was scheduled for Monday in Market Square, the organizers officially announced Friday the rally was moved to the Knoxville Civic Coliseum to handle larger crowds.
"People obviously have latched on to what a great story Trevor is and how well he has handled all of this immediate attention," Bristol Motor Speedway executive vice president Jerry Caldwell said. "Citizens not only of Knoxville, but all over the state of Tennessee are proud of this young man. So many have expressed an interest in coming, everyone involved believed this was a logical step."

The rally is still scheduled to start at 3:15.
