I remember renowned rocket surgeon members of Vol Nation who proclaimed after the blood clots were first discovered that Trey would never play another down of football.
A true ambassador for the state of Tennessee and the University of Tennessee. Congratulations Trey, you have very much earned that ring, and hope for more to come your way.
Not quite, Ace: The medical "know-it-alls"---doctors, other medical experts— are precisely the people who got his problem treated properly and in such a way that he could continue playing football.
The KC Chiefs may not have had the money for 1or 2 quality off season free agents without the extra money Trey Smith’s cap friendly contract as a 6th rounder versus a 1st rounder provided. They owe him.

We had all sorts of shade tree doctors. some proclaiming their first hand experiences with blood clots for themselves or their family members that shot his playing career through the heart every year after that freshman season. Then after his spectacular performances on The Hill, they shoveled dirt on any chance of him being drafted much less ever playing a down in the NFL.
Now here we are the starting right guard on the Superbowl Champions. I'm not calling anyone out but we have a few prolific VN posters who embarrassed themselves over Trey's career overall.
He deserves everything he receives. He and his family have been profoundly blessed. I was fortunate to watch him play at UT, and UT was extremely fortunate when he chose UT, and then stayed after the 2018 debacle.
He and Hendon are the greatest VOLS since Peyton and Al Wilson, in my book.
