Sad to see Bobby Labonte being regulated to a start in park status in crappy equipment. If TRG Motorsports keeps that up for a few races in a row I won't be surprised to see Bobby ditch them for another full time ride some where.

Nascar needs to put an end to start and park cars.

I saw this yesterday. I wouldn't be totally shocked to see them get a ride buyer or to run a #70 to park for the #71. Either way, it's not that big of a deal if they lose the locked in status. Bobby has the PCP to fall back on.

The biggest waste of talent ever in NASCAR that I can think of. What was he thinking when he left Gibbs?

Didn't Gibbs leave him? I don't think he was a waste of talent, I just think he needs to realize that his time has ran out. Terry had the same problem.

He had a semi-good run driving the #43 but was ousted for what I'm not sure. If he ever could get a decent ride again I think he could still be competitive.

It all comes down to sponsors. That's why we have the John Wes Townley's, Justin Lofton, Paul Menard, etc.'s of the world while people like Landon Cassil, Kelly Bires, Johnny Benson, etc.'s of the world. Money and age rules over talent anyday.

For the record, I think that Bobby was good back in his day, but I don't think he'll ever be anything special unless he's in a lower tier series.

He was on top of his game when he left Gibbs, and his talent was wasted from that point on. I'm not just speaking of the current team. If he had been with a competitive team since Gibbs, I would expect him to easily have another 8-10 wins. His driving ability surpassed that of Dale. Jr, Truex and Harvick.

I had always thought it was bad to fill the grid just so you could say it was. I think they should go to a 36 car field on tracks of 1 mile or less and 40 on those over 1 mile. At the same time eliminate the top 35 lock in rule, and give one previous champ provisional per year. This should eliminate start & parks.

thus making the top 35 even further of a joke.

but honestly, i wouldn't want to race at NHMS either.
