What I saw Saturday was a team taking one giant step back. Do we only practice every other week?

IDK, but life has its rhythms and clearly UT was on a downward slope Saturday.

The older guys on this team (few that there are) that play regularly have "learned how to lose". (i.e. the loss at LSU - too many men; North Carolina - freaky last 5 seconds; Alabama - boob block; Georgia - Pig's best efforts: etc. etc.). They are the Vanderbilts from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. Those terrible expectations (self-fulfilling prophecy) must be changed before UT will ever go 9+ wins.

Other top-tier teams expect to win - and more often than not - they do.

Inconsistent is what a bunch of freshman, younger guys and a year of rebuilding will get you....get ****in real everybody our offense is new, our defense is new our Qb was in his first college start and we were playing a team rank number 9 in the country for a reason! That same Missouri team put up major yards against Florida, a team deep with defensive talent. I'm not saying I'm not disappointed but we had opportunities yesterday, things like youth and inexperience put a lopsided score on the board. We are one of the least talented teams in the SEC when looking and talented depth, it will take time...let's not freak out.

Yes let's always blame the players never can be bad play calling not def scheme against good teams.

Please name me one game where u felt our coaches exploited the opposing team off or def no attacked the weak spots.... maybe second half of ga??? I'm not sure the did in sc game..

Everyone loved these guys when we were recruiting them but now let's get rid of them n wait another 3 years till butch get his guys.. lol

I hope you're talking schemes and not by class.

Please quit blaming the schedule. We are in the SEC we either compete or lay down. No one will let up on us or have sympathy because we have a hard schedule. This is not a valid excuse for a proud UT tradition, so stop it!

It's all a part of the rebuilding process. The team looked bad Saturday against Missouri, but there are still three games left. A bowl bid is still realistic. If that happens, this season was a huge step forward as far as I am concerned.

This. Why people can't see this is a mystery to me. In year #3 of the Jones tenure when he has a team full of his own players and we're still making the same mistakes and struggling to make it to 6-6 or 7-5, then I will jump to the other side.:twocents:
