The Vols football team had a lousy season, the Titans had a lousy season, now the Braves are starting to get too far out of first place. This may very well be the worse sports season for me in a long, long time!At least the Vol men and women bball played well.

The Braves are nowhere near far enough out of first place for my taste. Twenty games out in mid-August would sound better to me.

the braves always find a way to win their division. theyve been in this position for the last 3 or 4 years in june or july but always bounce back.

I hate Atlanta with every bone in my body, but I am a Reds fan!

1995 still gets to me!

One World Championship in 40+ years in Atlanta doesn't exactly spell excellence. They have fewer World Championships than the Marlins. Winning all those division titles is a nice accomplishment, excellence requires post season success.

I'm not sure. Oakland had some really small crowds in '78 and '79. Not really sure what attendance at a Marlins game has to do with the perennial postseason failures of the Braves.

Stands to reason that if they are such a great team, they would have a great following,no?

Not really. Look at the success U of Miami has had. They still struggle to sell tickets. South Florida just isn't an area with a stong, loyal spectator base.

If you go to a Braves game, you'll see quite a bit of the opposing teams' fans there. Go to a Cubs or Mets game and you will see. Take out most of those fans and TF empty seats would be quite large.
