I heard this on sportstalk the other day.

Name the 5 McDonals All-Americans that Tennessee has signed. Hint: They have all been since 1985.

Steve Hamer, Lang Wiseman, Carlos Groves, Gannon Goodsen, Aaron Green
*Clint Newman - honorable mention.

We have had some players through the years haven't we. I remember that Aaron Greene's nickname was "Hee Haw".

Seriously, nobody going to guess at the trivia?

I'll bite...

Vincent Yarbrough

Tony Harris

Charles Hathaway

Allan Houston

Doug Roth

I could be wrong about Roth. Scooter McFadgon is my next guess.

If Doug Roth was a McDonald's All American, they should seriously consider retiring the award. All I remember about Doug Roth was that he was a big slow white guy who once ran down the court and gave the finger to about 10,000 fans.

You got it LIO. I had forgotten about Doug Roth when I heard the question.

GAVol I remember when that happened. I think it was against LSU? It was a classic Tennessee moment. I think their fans had been giving him a hard time when he stepped out and hit a three and ran down the court flipping birds on both hands to the fans. :finger: At least that's how I remember it.

Doug Roth and Kevin Nash have to be my two favorite former Vol b-ballers.

I wish I could say I remember Kevin Nash. I think I remember the name, but I don't remember seeing him play. What years did he play here?

Nash would have been at Tennessee around 1979-80. That's the same Kevin Nash who is now a professional wrestler.

I knew that he was a professional wrestler. He must have really put on some size after he left here. :dunno:

Please tell me the Clint Newman thing is a joke. :birgits_giggle: I played against him in HS, even guarded him, and he's no McD AA.

This may be the oldest thread that I've ever seen get bumped.
