With our beloved Vols on a Bye week, I am forced to flip around and watch teams I have no desire to watch.

With that being said, I hope many of you just got to see Penn State beat Michigan (which I truly loved). Beaver Stadium was packed and every fan on their feet for the majority of the game. This was after their team got destroyed by Indiana last week.

The only thing that could have put that program in a worst situation, was to have Dooley as their coach. Point being, We as Vols Fans must keep our stadium full and back our team at all cost, no matter the situation. It's the only way we will get back to prosperity. It helps in all phases of our program if Neyland is packed when our team is inside it. I know this is what we all want, so be a True Fan and let's support these guys no matter what happens.

I actually enjoy watching our rivals play. Mizzou definitely surprised me today. Florida...not so much

Looking at Penn State's atmosphere kind of makes me realize we as vol fans have no excuses. Yeah we've been struggling the last 5 years, but Penn State has dealt with Sanctions caused by a sexual predator that caused basically their whole history and tradition to be wiped out. Not to mention no bowl games. And they still had 108,000 fans there...

The point I was making! Exactly!

Not sure if I am the only one but does it seem like Florida is at the spot in their program we were....say near Fulmer's last few seasons? :dunno: Cuz I am ready for the shoe to be on the other foot for a long while now.

I got a laugh out of the LSU fans mocking the gators at the end of the game doing the gator chomp and saying "it's tough to be a Florida gator". At least I think tough was the word they used.

There's blood in the water in a sea full of sharks. Muschamp will be on the hot seat by year's end (absurd but true)

If Neyland is always packed, then it will be more enticing for ESPN & others to put in a prime time viewing. Thursday nights, Saturday nights, College Game Day, etc. etc. More exposure, better for recruiting.

I must have not heard you, cause I would have agreed. Matter of fact, I wanted him gone at the half of that game. The group I watched it with said "relax" and I had to leave cause I was screaming how pathetic our staff was...couldn't even beat a team with a wide receiver play QB.

UT will never host a Thurs. night game. Gameday was there last year.

I don't think Florida can go as low as we did with the incredible in-state talent they have down there...

Those 4 OTs between Michigan & Penn State were quite entertaining - a hilarious comedy of errors. You had a couple of missed & blocked field goals, a fumble lost, passes dropped, runners falling down without being touched.

But I guess someone had to win anyway. Is Big 10 football always like this??

Yes I am very impressed with your analytical skill.

Haha... exactly! Your sarcasm only helps prove my point even more. Rewind to mid season last year and you'd see that more than half this board was full doolanded and my analytical foresight was hardly seen as a positive. The irony is that I said then... people would look back at the dooley years and their blind support for him and wonder "wtf was I thinking?!" Didn't take too long for that to happen.

One of my best fiends lives in PA and is the assistant for Senator White of PA, with that said he was there when all the reports went down at PSU, and he swears to me that PSU fans feel Joe Pateron did nothing wrong at all. In fact, he's even went as far as saying they believe he got a bad rap in all of the reports. My point is, yea they are 108,000 strong, and they also fully support a guy who did the bare minimal required in reporting a sexual assault case that occurred on the campus by a coach for crying out load.

Being a true fan is relative. We all inevitably want the same things. I bet to some I wasn't "a true fan" when I wanted Dooley gone after the Miss St game last year. As much as I support Butch and as much as I DO NOT think he is another Dooley, this "support the team no matter what" talk is a little silly. I'll always support the team, but IF we have 3 losing seasons again, I and many others simply won't want to afford to go to Neyland to watch such crap.

Luckily I believe we have a great head coach and the players have bought in. Improvement is already showing and superb talent is on the way next year. Great sentiment OP and I agree with you, just thinking out loud I suppose. :eek:k:
