ESPN.com - NCAA - Oklahoma Sooners Message Board

On the other-hand OU is a much better culture fit going to the SEC. Also it fits the SEC financial model better. Rather than relying on sheer population numbers for TV revenue they (The SEC) put the best product on the field and let the match-ups create the money by selling the package. In the end that model will ultimately win.

I don't think we've heard the last of Oklahoma and the SEC. If Texas A&M joins the SEC, which I think is a good chance, then Mike Slive will probably make a run at Oklahoma. From what I've read, Oklahoma doesn't really like the Pac 10 anyway ,but they were just going ,because they didn't want to lose many of their conference rivals.

OU & TAMU to the SEC would hurt Texas. Wouldn't both schools like to see that??

Oklahoma definitely wouldn't be a "culture" fit in the
PAC ?. Oklahoma is very southern in culture, even though some tend to think it is as midwestern. Not. Nor is part of Missouri. Texas isn't a cultural fit either, but here again, it is money driving all this, and not "cultural fits."

If OU AND TX A&M comes, we might as well welocme Texas into the SEC and drag one from the ACC. Texas will start to love us when their rivalries are going east.

My guess is that Oklahoma will do whatever it can to keep the RRR a conference matchup.

No school wants their biggest annual game to be a neutral site match that hogs an OOC slot.

Texas will never come to the SEC. The conference is too strong. I can see them going to the PAC-10 or staying in a patchwork BXII.

I'm anxious to see what happens to the RRR once the game is moved to Arlington. Will it survive the Netherlands between Dallas and Fort Worth in Jerry Jones new palace?
