This game means so much to so many people ! So much tradition so much history , these two teams are the corner stones of the SEC . Both teams have struggled this year and both teams have looked great , very evenly matched in my opinion.
Nico has to hit on a handful of shots down field !! The defense and running game will take care of the rest , along with special teams .
When it's all over and the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, I think a rowdy raucous Neyland crowd could make the difference.
Go Vols !! Beat Bama !!
Better yet Stomp a mudhole in the Gumps and walk it dry !!

My first feelings of happiness from the Alabama series came during Doug Dickey's tenure, the Vols winning 3 straight in 1967, 1968 and 1969 followed by a 4th win in Bill Battle's first season in 1970.
My first real pain came in the '72 game, which I attended with my brother and parents. Tennessee's defense played Bama's wishbone offense off its feet all day long. Back then, we were Linebacker U and that defense covered every option on every play all afternoon that day. Vols led 10-3 until Alabama finally scored a tying TD with under 3 minutes left in the game. Condredge Holloway's infamous fumble followed on the next possession and Bama took advantage of the very short field to score again a minute later. To this day, my most painful loss as a fan.

I don't feel great about tomorrow because of our offensive line. I think Nico will get better, but no offense works if you can't block and our plodding tackles have handicapped the offense and I think, shaken Nico's confidence and impacted his performance. We can only hope that Coach Heupel can scheme around this glaring weakness to some extent to put enough points up to win a close game. The defense is going to have to wreak havoc, put Milroe on his ass and create some turnovers. I'll be watching, the remote in one hand and a stiff Crown and Coke in the other. Go Vols !!

You have some incredible memories brother . Your last paragraph hit the nail on the head . The penalties ,putting us behind the chains hasn't helped either . GO Vols !

I've got to get a couple hours of sleep before I head to Knoxville ! I'm 60 years old and I'm like a little giddy kid . Nothing compares to the energy and electricity I feel in Neyland stadium , for games like this . I hope the Volunteers rise to the occasion .
I'm jealous, I'm stuck in az lol, it's a 12:30 kick off for me

My first Vols game that I attended was not against Alabama but against Ole Miss in 1973. I was 14 years old and we were living in Mississippi at the time. One of dad's customers owned a Mack truck dealership in Jackson and he invited us to the game to sit with him in the governors box. My family being from Tennessee of course and extremely devout Vols fans, I was ecstatic to see the boys in orange playing. Well, we didn't win as the Rebels outscored us 28-18. The roster included Condredge as well as Larry Seivers, Haskel Stanback, and Neil Clabo. Jamie Rotella's younger brother Mike was also on that team. It was still a memorable time in my youth and I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to see some of these legendary players in action.

Today is a hallowed day across the South and truly, across the college football landscape.

Couldn't sleep, excited, nervous, and fired up for this afternoon. Going to hunt till 8, then got to work until 2, and then rush home to get the game on before kickoff!! Go Vols and send those Bammers back to their trailer park from whence they came

This game has huge playoff implications. I just hope our offense starts clicking better than it has the last three games. Hopefully Heupel has some big plays up his sleeve that Bama hasn't seen. I also hope our defense continues to play lights out and puts Milroe on his back all day. We will also need an answer for the QB sweep Bama always runs, especially when they're in the red zone. If we limit Milroe's rushing yards we should win the game.

I'm jealous. To be able to wake up and have games start at 9:00am for NCAA and 10am for NFL sounds great! Those 1030 EST starts being 730 for you-truly games all day! That would be absolutely perfect!

Milroe will get some runs. We just can’t let it get ridiculous. The key to this game is our own QB play. You better believe bamas plan will be to load the line and make Nico beat us. Nothing up to this point suggests he can.

I would like to see him throw some 50/50 balls to Brazzell in 1 on 1 situations. There is a reason those guys play db. If they were better at catching the ball they would be receivers. I think that will give him confidence just to pull the trigger on lots of other throws

Thank You, still working on the Crown, but I have added a cigar to the mix.
Kinda did end up with Heupel scheming enough points to win, but only because of that incredible defense. They were something to behold.
