Tua Injured against MSU

He will be lucky to walk again.
Bo Jackson NFL career ended from hip fracture/dislocation that lead to avascular necrosis. Tua only has the first part. Hope he can avoid AVN. College season over and NFL status affected but let's not say career over yet. Fingers crossed.

You’re up four touchdowns on Miss St. and your super star starter is still in the game? Auburn game left to go and most likely SEC Champ game. Geeez! Situational awareness, coach! Not smart. Prayers for Tua...he’s a good guy.

LSU has all but locked up a trip to the SECCG.

Exactly. Same type injury. If the trabeculae is damaged and the blood supply disrupted then it's not good. Currently they are calling it bruised and only time will reveal the true extent of the injury. Prayers for the young man.

Edit: I just saw it was a posterior wall fracture. That’s complicates things.

You start the post with saying he'll be lucky to walk again and end with saying "let's not say career over yet".

Saban explicitly contradicted this.

I didn't even watch. That came directly from a neighbor that is a booster. That said, per espn "We can second-guess ourselves all we want," Saban said. "We told Mac to warm up. We were going to go two-minute before the half, and Tua wanted to go in the game. So I don't really make a lot of decisions about guys getting hurt. ."

I'm not sure how you interpret that as an explicit contradiction.

Ugh! Age is a terrible thing! You are correct sir! I think I was thinking they still had a chance to get in the playoff.
UGA v LSU should be a good SEC Champ game.

First off.. I hate this for the young man. As a Bama fan, I'd be a little upset about him still being in the game. But I get that too - Style points.. Beauty contest for the committee. I speculate that if Bama had beaten LSU, this wouldn't have happened. Of course that can't be proven, but connect the dots.

I disagree, all they needed to do is take care of business. If they do that slide into the playoffs. Name recognition and money to be made.

The Saban should have said no. Knowing he’s beat up there’s no reason for it. They’re coming after him regardless so it’s high risk/no reward there.

CBJ really does seem to have a cloud of bad luck that follows him. I’m sure he wants a ring so bad at Bama he can taste it so he can flaunt it around like he is really a NC coach.

I legit feel bad for Tua, he is a good kid, and I don’t wish injury on anybody...but I must admit the karma of the injury bug here while CBJ was coach now following him to Bama is a little sweet.

That does sound like something Lyle would do.

Fluke injury and I hate it for Tagavailoa, Bama player or not.

Going from a lock as a top 10 pick to a potential career threatening injury sucks. Hope they had a big insurance policy on him.

As horrifying an injury as it was, Tua has top flight medical care, and it wouldn't surprise me if he came back in the spring. However, I am not encumbered by any advanced, nor even basic, medical knowledge to back this up. Just thinking about how quickly he came back from his last surgery that would have laid up a normal person for a few months. I hope that is the case for him

Butch is a curse. Saban effed up when he hired him.

man. I hate to see that for Tua (for any kid). I hope he makes a full recovery.

- I have to wonder if he has some sort of genetic tendency for ligaments allow more movement in his joints? Am I correct in thinking that this is (3) joint/ligament related injuries now?

Whether they are related or not, does the feeling that this might be a thing for him hurt his NFL prospects?

Tua fractured a part of his pelvis bone where the socket of the femur bone comes in. No ligaments involved. Serious injury.
