I was able to attend this schrimmage tonight and i saw some disturbing things.. Ainge does NOT look himself what so ever. Clausen looked sharp but fumble back to back snaps which may or may not have had something to do with the center. Defense looks good and ainge was picked off in the first 5 mins of the game. All in all somewhat good on offense and pretty good on defense but still a ways to go.!

ainge just didnt look good he under threw atleast 5 that were knocked away and was picked off atleast once. Riggs looks sharp and quick. Meachem made some great catches. It was hard to really get it that accurate. The schrimmage was full speed but with little contact to anyone especially on first team.

hahaha exactly.. put very well as a matter of fact. britton was booming some punts however wilhoit really dissapointed me with some shanked FG's near the end of the practice. The simulation for game noise was loud as anything... sounded like a jet lol.. freak knows what im sayin

Ainge may be at the point he's pushing.

Some teammates have alluded to the fact he needs to relax and let it flow and he does better.

You have to wonder how his confidence is at this point.

I don't think confidence is a factor, last year when he was playing bad it was because he was pressing and most times when they took him out and let him watch for a series or 3 he quit pressing and let it "flow" and he did alot better.

I think most people forget that he struggled at times last year. We seem to look back and remember more of the positives.

More the reason smarts before talent. Im in no way against either, But what ever can make the TEAM better. Ainge does seem to get hot off the bench, thus why ive believed he will understudy to an extent.

i tend to agree with you and even when he was struggling he seemed to get the better end of the deal.. i can think of three instances where he threw it up and we kinda just lucked out... like in the florida game when he was scrambling and threw the ball up down the right sideline and brett smith had to leap to catch it and the florida defender nearly picked it off. and then that georgia first play of the game when tinsley caught that long pass.. think if he hits him in stride the a TD for sure... just things like that that ended up goin his way but couldve gone either.

Case in point, big difference between the Florida game and the Auburn game.

I read the review on the UT site. Fulmer said he was pleased. he praised the defense and the running game.
OK that doesn't contradict anything you've said about the QB's.

So, a couple Q's:
If the offense had really looked good, what would that have said about the defense? Would there be concern about the D if there were no sacks, turnovers and the O had moved the ball at will?

that video is the worst i have seen since practice has started. lots of leading receivers into the jaws of defense, INT on a freak'n duck and with the fumbled snaps talked about and Ainge's lazy look on offense.... :realmad:

i hope things ship-up for UAB, UF and LSU.

I'm not saying you are wrong, especially since I havn't watched the video, but Fulmer's comments about the scrimmage were rather positive.

He doesn't seem like the type of man who puts a whole lot of spin on things. Often, what he says is rather frank and honest. I have read multiple times him saying "We're just not where we need to be with our (insert area) right now."

People should worry less about what all the practice means because truth is, it doesn't help you assess the team with regards to other teams. Where do you draw the line between one unit being successful and another unit struggling? I for one am happy that the defense made the offense struggle in this scrimmage, since the offense made the defense struggle in the other scrimmages. That balance makes me think that both offense and defense could be poised for a strong year.

Bottom line, before any games are played, if Fulmer is happy, I'm happy.

And he's "Really happy".
