Other practice news:

After the 2 a day practice, Sears and Richard had to be attended to by trainers after the second practice, but walked off the field on their own. They were just exhausted.

Other linemen seemed to be slow getting off the field as well and some were carted back to Gibbs Hall. Overall, Adkins was not pleased with the offensive line play today. He said they stuggled to pick up blitzes.

"It’s one of those things where these kids are not used to it," Adkins said. "We’re in good shape. We just have to make sure that they’re weighing in and out, getting the fluids that they need and taking care of their bodies."

Fulmer thought the practice was just "OK"..

Hardesty's MRI results came back and nothing seems to be wrong with his knee other than some swelling.

Sears gave the team a pep talk telling them that now is not a time to hit a plateau and to keep working hard.

Fulmer was giving Steven Jones and Chris Scott praise for their work thus far.

The WR's are giving a lot of effort all the way around from run blocking to laying out for catches.

Nah, it's not that big of a deal. It was the first 2 a day and they were working hard. The only reason they didn't drive themselves back is because there was a new rule set in motion saying they have to walk back and forth from practice to the halls.

I don't think an exception on a hot day is too big of a deal.

Isn't it nice to those recievers actually lay out for those passes???
only if they are catching them...if they are laying out all the time and coming up short, sounds to me like we may have a qb over throwing the ball....which is NOT good.

but, having said that, too many times last year, the WR would just quit running or make a half hearted effort to catch the ball....so it is a positive strictly from a WR position standpoint.

Heat is being turned on by both mother nature and coaches. No pain... no gain...

Perferctly normal progession in development of the team. For me this is positive. They are working their butts off and should be walking off with almost nothing left. This will benefit come game day.
