Assuming Florida beats UGA tonight in Gainesville (heck, for that matter even if they don't), the overall crap that is SEC men's basketball in 2011 means that the 2 seed in the east for the SECT is still wide open. Fot that matter so is the 5, but I really don't want to fall that low.

What's happened off-the-court has happened, and there is nothing that can be done or changes made (if they are to be made) until April. So let's try to sit back and enjoy the next month or so.

Barring a total collapse the next 7 days (again, not guaranteed), this team is in the NCAA tournament. They are playing for seeding in Atlanta and in the Dance. Let us hope the last 10 minutes on Tuesday started a late season run again and let's have some fun with it and make some noise in March.

(Obligatory) Go Vols!

As soon as we lost that game against Florida I have been saying the same thing that we still can snag the 2 seed. I for one feel this is the year we win the SEC tournament. Pearl has consistently broke down barriers since he has gotten here. (#1 ranking, Elite 8, Finishing in front of Kentucky record 4 times straight in SEC, swept national champion gators, beat 2 #1 teams in one season, 5 straight tournament appearances.) The SEC tournament is still something he wants to win for first time for our school since 1979. I feel our team is capable of winning it seeing as we have done really well on neutral floors. Our team hasn't really been completely ran out of a gym on the road and with exception on College of Charleston we haven't been ran out of our own gym. I wanna close the same way you did. GO VOLS!!!!!

They would have to do something they've been struggling with all year, consistency. They haven't put together many good stretches, now would be a good time to start.

I would love to see a stretch of defensive intensity that we saw at the beginning of the year.

We really need that 2 seed. Last year we were a 3 seed and we got destroyed by UK (1 seed) in the 3rd game. If we are a 3 seed we will most likely be playing Florida in the 3rd game (if we win the first 2 that is). If we are a 2 seed we will most likely be playing Alabama in the 3rd game. If we are a 4 seed we'll be playing Alabama in the 2nd game and if we are a 5 seed we'll be playing Florida in the 2nd game.

The 2 seed isn't entirely in our hands, but it's close. We need to beat Kentucky at home, and Kentucky needs to beat Vandy at Rupp. I think there's a decent chance of both happening.

Vandy also gets Florida at home next week too. Not an easy finish to the season for them at all.

I would be happy with the 3, I just don't want the 4 or 5.

Between Florida, UK, and Vandy (not sure what UGA's schedule is like) we have by far the easiest 3 game stretch to end the season. I think we have a pretty good shot at the 2.

UGA gets SC, LSU and then closes with Bama. (Not sure of locations.) They have the easiest of the 4 teams.

Beating Vandy Tuesday night was huge. Pretty much wrapped up an NCAA tournament bid (assuming they don't get blown out the next four games). The SEC is a crap conference. Regardless of the seeding, the suckitude of the conference means only a couple of teams don't have a realistic chance at winning the SECT.

IMO, the sec is so wide open this year, it doesn't matter if we get the 2 or the 5. Anybody can win this tourney. Each team has showed how vulnerable they can be and Florida has just showed how luck you can be.

I want the seed that gives us UF or Alabama in the second game we play. We are not losing to either of those teams if we play them again this year. I don't want to face Vandy and we don't really match up well against UK.
