Turnovers

Was thinkin about the past 2 games and re watchin these games 3 things stick out to me in each game.

Oklahoma game: my opinion the game changers was 2 turnovers- 1 INT in the red zone, took away 3 possibly 7 points, 1- INT with a 100 yd return for 7 and then the obvious horrible officiating, missed calls.

Georgia game: again my opinion the a me changers was 2 turnovers - 1 fumble in the redzone takin away 3 possibly 7 points, 1 fumble in the endzone recovered for 7 and again the obvious horrible officiating.

We usually take pretty good care of the ball but this shows that when we do turnover the ball the ramafications it has. 4 turnovers in 2 games and they changed the outcome if both games in my opinion.

And officials, evidently. Look, I'm a soccer ref for area high school games, so I understand refs are just normal folks and don't ref with an agenda in mind - at least not at my level.

However, there has been major research conducted on the psychology of home field advantage from the referee's perspective. There's no doubt in my mind the refs were leaning toward GA with their calls last Saturday - Gurley 3rd and 11 spot, punt returner's "momentum," sideline 15yd penalty at halftime, etc. Bunch of junky calls and the refs may not have even realized they were doing it. But they did.

We lost that game. It was ours to win and we fumbled it away. However, 3 point games are routinely won/lost on bad calls by refs. Happens every Friday night, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Just the way it is, and always will be.

Go Vols, beat dem gators!

Since our last win in 2004--Florida is +13 in the turnover margin during the nine-game streak. In the nine games, the Gators turned the ball over 11 times compared to 24 by the Vols.

Georgia had a couple of turnovers too. If not for those, they could a few more points on the board.

Also, when we force the turnovers the offense has to do something with them. Getting turnovers and then going 3 and out is a killer.

We actually caused their two turnovers (which equaled Zero points) and our turnovers were completely our fault....

We laid on one Ga fumble but did not fight for it in the pile and missed a great opportunity.

Sorry, relatively new and I dont have enough posts to start a thread. I couldnt find anything, but what is the latest on Worley's elbow?
