My wife is reading the books, so there is a good chance this might turn into a date night for us.

My wife has read all 4 of them. I told her I would go with her trying to be nice, but she declined. I guess she figures sticking me as babysitter is worse than going to the movie. :dunno:

it has to be the #1 movie, the line of young screaming girls was wrapped around the building

Unless your 12 yr old girl, or a child pedofile you shouldn't see this movie. My gf dragged me to the movie on Saturday. 90%of the crowd was middle/high school teens. The movie itself is pretty cheesy but def. not the worst I have ever seen.

Saw it with the girlfriend. The acting and dialogue were so bad in parts that I started laughing. Sadly, the chick wasn't even good-looking.

looking at the trailer for this I am offended that anyone has ever called it the 'next harry potter'

I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I think the label is fairly appropriate. It'll draw a slightly older crowd and won't have the semi-creepy adoration of parants, but it's a magic-type series of films that's going to make a crapton of money.

yeah, i don't get that either. i think the comparison is more from the targeted age demographic than anything. i haven't seen twilight, but i can tell you that it is nothing like harry potter

I watched it last night, and oddly enjoyed it. The actors sucked me into the film. It was amazing I left Tinseltown thinking I knew the people!
