Two key stats if Heupel beats Mizzou today...

He will be 15-7 overall at Tennessee, which means he:

-Passes Derek Orange Pants Dooley for number of wins (Dooley went 15-21).

-Ties McCornbread Beldar Jeremy Blewitt for number of wins (16-19).
If? C’mon man. There’s no ‘if Heup beats Mizzou’ happening today.

Maybe the lowest bar of 'success' that could be imagined.

In my mind, we went directly from Kiffin (the last year before 2021 that I had a shred of hope) to Heupel. The intervening years are mostly a black hole, and are only about the tenures of some true VFL's (Dobbs, Kamara, Jennings, etc.) that were spent under hideous coaches.

I don’t see this being a close game but just for kicks..this was a convo I had with a buddy

If mizzou keeps it close today or dare I say pulls the upset, how does this change your opinion of Heupel. My buddy (cowboys fan fyi lol) said if they don’t bounce back well today they may still not have their coach

Also matches Butch’s highest win totals with two three or four games left and one year sooner.
FYP.

All the comparisons should be to 2007, 2001, and 1998. Not anything from the Dark Ages.

Josh & Co have gotten us light years beyond anything that happened between 2008 and 2020. Those thirteen seasons should be stored in the closet and never brought out again.

We're back to championship football.

Go Vols!

These are not Key Stats. This just validates how bad Pruitt and Dooley were as coaches.

I am glad I started following Volunteer football in the 1960s because this thread is an example of positive recovery from BVS.

Glad you are on the road to recovery.

The Key Stats introduced are laughable and not Thread Worthy

I don’t care that he passes them in wins today. I care that he beat two out of three rivals in year two and has us in the top 5 for the first time in like 20 years.
Absolutely! Know we will have our own roster turnover next year but we will have another 5th year senior at QB in all probability next year and UGA will have to figure out their qb…though you figure they will still be loaded…BUT we will get the chance to return the favor in home field advantage…

I think op point is Hype reached the 15 game win total in about 13 less games.

That's exactly my point!
(but that clearly doesn't stop people from being jerks about it)

Who's to really say what being "on schedule" is IRT expectations, but whatever that number is, any program that goes from 3-7 to a probable 11-1 in two seasons is most definitely ahead of schedule.

-Ties McCornbread Beldar Germy Poot for number of wins (16-19).

It also means we will finally have a winning record against Missouri...which is an embarrassing milestone, but we must acknowledge how deeply our program sucked over the last decade.

The only 3 stats we should really care about are...

1...How many points we were able to stack up against Mizzou to make our WIN look MUCH better than UGa was able to do.

2...How many really good stats was HH able to put together to help his run at the heisTman trophy.

3...How many good stats was Hyatt able to put together to win the Billetnikoph (sp) trophy.

That's really all we should care about for our footVOL Team IMHO.

VFL...GBO!!!
