Interesting that rating services rate Hammond as a 3 star QB. Patrick Mahomes (2014) was rated as a 3 star by 247 and Rivals. Both committed to Texas Tech. Mahomes led a Super Bowl winning team.

Don’t forget Baker Mayfield was a three star out of H.S. and went to Texas Tech before transferring to OU. Won a Heisman and was the 1st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft...although his NFL career has been a train wreck.

Timing could offer him a good shot as a future starter in this offense...definitely top backup.
