Tyler Smiths Dad Was Just On Sports Talk

He pretty much lied, and blah blah blah. Basically he's a tool, and he didnt like UT because Pearl wasnt "honest". And when asked about Bensen, he stuttered for about 2 minutes :bs:

Listened to the interview. Tyler's dad made the comment that Pearl stated he would release Tyler if he was not comfortable with him and his staff. He then went on to say basically Pearl lied to Tyler, Tyler's dad, and his high school coach. He also made the comment that other recruits from the west TN area had called him and that it will probably affect TN's ability to recruit that area in the future.

Until this all plays out who really knows what is fact and fiction?
Sounds to me that the Smith's had their mind made up as soon as Buzz was let go. So be it with this kid. I know he is a good player, but I want kids to come to TN who absolutely want to give their heart and soul to the program. Face the facts, TN will struggle next season with the talent we have coming back. Our lack of depth in the post is scary, especially given the style of play Pearl teaches. It might be a rough time for the next couple of years. The ball is in Pearl's corner now. It is his program, and I for one hope and am very optimistic he will succeed.

FYI: Coach Pearl will be on sports talk 99fm tommorrow to hopefully give his take on this whole matter.

I listened to the interview and you could tell that Juicy Smith was lying. Yes it could affect recruiting in state next year cause Juicy Smith will lie to those kids to try and keep them from UT. This old man has tried strong arming UT from the beginning.

Smith SR. is scarry in my opinion. Nothing credible came from his mouth during the interview except is disdain for Pearl. First he says he doesnt have anything against Pearl and the next breath he's attacking him. He says that Tyler will make his own decisions then the next breath he says no one makes a decision for Tyler but him. Wants out of his LOI so he can have the opportunity get to know Pearl so that he can be re-recruited by Pearl next year? Yeah right! Mr. Smith you ought to go to Washington. You would fit right in.
