Best CB in the nation, he is putting on a show in the WV game right now. Can't believe the former staff never offered this kid after killing it at our camp.

Doesn't look like he got any good offers other than LSU.

Mathieu came in and completely dominated, and didn't even get a sniff. That was because of the smoke and mirrors campaign in recruiting Kiffin and them were putting on, and had they offered him at the point he came in, he would be on our roster.

No he wouldn't. The second LSU offered, he was gone. Just like the Freak.

Why wouldn't he of?? He was a 3* with no big offers at the time he came into our camp. Mathieu was basically begging that staff for an offer and he would commit on the spot.

He might have, but he was an LSU kid from the word go, like mist Louisiana kids. They offered because he can play. He went. We didn't like his size. It is a stupid approach to collegiate DB recruiting, but it's reality.

Him going to LSU no matter what might be true, but that's not what the kid said or what was reported from our camp.

It's not what any of them say at a camp or during the interviews. Just because you like to cut and paste them doesn't mean they are worth the electrons wasted.

Lol.

He was going to LSU the nano-second after they offered. Delusional people will believe otherwise.

Actually, he was a no star recruit until he came to LSU's camp, they offered on the spot, as far as I know he had no other major offer and I am not sure he even had a small school offer. Later the rating agencies upgraded him but it was after the fact. This is why I keep telling people not to worry about stars especially early in the process, until you get the guy in camp you don't know. Unless you are the top of the top LSU is not going to offer unless you come to a camp, which sometimes turns recruits off but the only way you know is to evaluate them in person.

He made a name for himself at the camps, people in BR knew he had some serious skills.

Looked liked the best playmaker on the defensive side of the ball this year.

He was the best playmaker on the field last year as well, he just didn't start because of Peterson, so he played mostly on nickel situations, still just playing a nickel spot. His stats are off the charts since he really has only started 4 games so far. His coverage skills needs to improve and his lack of height might hurt at the next level but he is a playmaker for sure.
