Kinda along the lines of what Burhead said, the old regime of Afghanistan is either dead or gone for harboring Al-Qaeda. The United States government is still responsible for what that idiot did. Hence, the reparations.

Last I checked, the country of Afghanistan had little to nothing to do with 9/11. Now if we doled out money to the families of Al-Queda you may have a point here.

I failing to see what Afghanistan has to do with 9/11.

Bin Ladin had a training camp in Afghanistan, and was his headquarters where he trained terrorists and funded the 9/11 hijackers.

I know this but AQ was not in charge of Afghanistan at the time. The Taliban was the group in charge of the country then.

So it wasn't the Germans fault that Hitler and the Nazi's were in power in Germany and started WWII?

9/11 was not state sponsored by the Afghan government, why should they be paying out money to victims? Sure the Taliban leadership housed AQ but the attacks were not ordered by them.

That would be like saying everybody in the united states agrees with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars...we don't all agree, and much like us, not all Germans agreed with Hitler. This is not a hard concept to grasp.

Why do you think the U.S. Military went in and overthrew the Afghanistan govt then?

So the people in Germany and Japan bear no responsibility for WWII?

So the Germans who stood by and did nothing while millions of jews were sent to death camps, they just wash their hands of it.

What were they supposed to do? All opposition to Hitler was imprisoned and likely executed. Again I ask, what have we as American citizens done to prevent our government from going to war? Nothing. We have no say in the matter.

When all else fails, bring up the Nazis.

Well the muslims and the nazis were joined at the hip.

That fact does bear some attention at times.
