For the next few years we will be witnessing/guessing at the effects of COVID lockdowns on player's development.

Not the area I would have suspected, but I keep hearing comments from coaches and observers about players being deficient in their shooting consistency, both male and female players. FTA:

The opening shooting drills were somewhat of a surprise as many players just missed outside shots. It was hard to find anyone who was able to hit more than three in a row with many managing only two makes on at least 20 attempts.​

I don't think it's COVID's fault. It's the fact that young people can't put down their phones long enough to put up shots. They're too busy making videos, posting pics and sharing every single private thought on public social media to put the work in.

And ... get off my lawn! 🤣

It's not "get off my lawn" it's happening. There are 20% fewer girls playing HS basketball than there were about 10 years ago. Heard that on the radio this morning. They couldn't link a cause but you have cited the primary one IMO.

My wife works with youth and the #1 job kids want today is "influencer". Sad

These teams are a joke and irrelevant due to the bias now built into the system for certain coaches to help their recruiting at the college level
