As far as I'm concerned Oakland is IN San Francisco... in national publications they've started calling it "Nashville/Murfreesboro" as if the 'boro is somehow part of Nashville... Oakland is FAR closer to being a part of San Fran than the Nashville/Murfreesboro thing.(NeanderVol @ Mar 25 said:Memphis can't throw it in the ocean.
On another note, why is the "Oakland" regional being played in San Francisco?

On a different note, why is the 1 seed playing hundreds of miles from home while the 2 seed is in their back yard? I thought the advantage was somehow supposed to be to the highest seed?!?! :dunno:

It wasn't. They were playing in the Warriors' arena, whatever they call it now, which is right next door to the Oakland Coliseum. It's about a 10 minute BART ride from San Francisco.(NeanderVol @ Mar 25 said:Memphis can't throw it in the ocean.

Technically, the logos are for the "host" schools. That raises the question, why isn't Georgia State's logo also on the floor when they play in Atlanta?(tidwell @ Mar 26 said:What was the point of putting the school logos on the court? Like in Atlanta, Georgia Tech doesn't play in the Dome...
