Reportedly UCLA's first, top target...may offer $3 million, refurbished facilities, and approx $2 million for assistants as part of the pkg. still look for CP to turn down the Bruins for a second time. Ouch!

Kevin Sumlin and Butch Jones have been mentioned as have Mike Bellotti and Tom Cable.

Considering their AD is Dan Guerrero they'll end up with Cable. Smart on Petersen's part to avoid the black hole at UCLA.

Sumlin per multiple commentaries is reportedly not interested. Doubt Petersen would be either, he's thumbed his nose up at several theoretically better jobs.

Not theoretically better, flat-out better. UCLA is a fantastic school with one of the prettiest campuses in America in a location where practically every 19 year old wants to be, but the football program is an underfunded joke.

That said, I think Cable would make for a nice hire if he's willing to take a bargain bin contract.

Going to have to offer more then that to get Patterson to even think of biting. I may be wrong, but I just do not see him taking that offer.

If I was Sumlin, I'm staying, focusing on the championship game, win that. Then go to a BCS bowl, do my best to win that, and then prove I can win without Keenum and basically have any job you want next year.

Rick Neuhisal said that he was continually promised things that never happened. They don't even have a football building. It's a dissaster. UCLA is a job everyone thinks should be great, but it's just not. It's like Michigan basketball.

Petersen's son actually was diagnosed with cancer when he was a one-year old, but has received treatment. There have been reports that the Boise doctor that treated Petersen's son has moved on to UCLA.

per the international business times... expecting CP to take this job now...

Do you think he can win without Keenum? Why take that risk?

I'm not sure why anyone good would take the UCLA job.

I'd see the Arizona State job as having more potential.

Jim Mora Jr. is currently considered a top candidate. That should tell you all you need to know about UCLA's coaching search.

Like, if anyone thought Dooley was a desperation hire, this would literally be UCLA's seventh or eighth choice.
