I should probably see a therapist at this point but unranked Hawaii is driving in the 4th quarter down 4 to the number 25 team in the country on CBSSD. I'm rooting hard for the Rainbow Warriors because there's been talk about shuttering the program.

That seals it for the Huskies. Oh well, maybe Hawaii will get an increase in funding from boosters. Maybe the AD was just playing hardball trying to get more money who knows.

Wasn't Hawaii good in the last decade? Can't remember specifically but iirc they were ranked for a while.

They were pretty good in 2000s. Had Jimmy Chang and then Colt Brennan at QB. And yes, got destroyed by UGA in 07 Sugar Bowl.

"Good" is relative.

They played some of the easiest schedules around with decent players. Their true colors showed against UGA in that Sugar Bowl.

They've done far worse since they joined the Mountain West. And June Jones left there to go to SMU so that should tell you something.

Still if you're going to suck, Hawaii would be the place to do so.

Their facilities are garbage. The alumni don't really care. People go to UH games, but I feel like people in Hawaii have more allegiance to their high schools.

I didn't get a chance to visit the campus when I was there or anything, but it didn't seem like anyone cared about the school much anyway. I did visit a small community college I think and they said the same thing golfballs said, that high school allegiance is but though.

FB is bleeding UH dry considering travel costs (which are bad enough for other programs as well). It should be abandoned.

There was a story out last week where the AD I believe said they may have to drop football, then he almost immediately kind of took it back. But I don't see how they stay afloat. Even their undefeated season didn't do much to spur interest, because I remember watching a few of their late home games and they weren't filling the stadium even then.

Plus I don't see how the bowl game they have there stays, the stadium is never more than a third full if that, and even when Hawaii is playing in it, they don't fill it up more than half.

Actually I used to find some strange joy out of watching the late Hawaii games on ESPN3. I was actually bummed that after Hawaii joined the MWC, that meant no more of their games on ESPN3 because the MWC has a contract with the CBS Sports Network and I don't get that network.

Sure I can find the game online somewhere but it's not quite the same.

I remember getting pumped up about the Hawaii-Boise St matchups. Decided the WAC a couple times I believe.
