My understanding on Fields is that he couldn't make his reads fast enough against an SEC defense, and he practiced against one of the top SEC defenses. In the few instances that I saw, if the first read wasn't there, he tucked it. He threw the ball well enough against Austin Peay, MTSU, Umass, and Vandy, so we all knew he had a cannon arm. It seemed like Chaney inserted him in meaningful games just to satisfy his family that he was getting some PT. There certainly didn't seem to be a "plan" for Justin Fields, and Kirby said as much. I think the media wanted to gin up a QB controversy where none existed. It was always Jake Fromm's job. Hey guy, I'm a Justin Fields fan. I hate that he had to transfer to the OSU in order to play this year. But the reality is, a guy like Fields leaves after his 3rd year. He's not there for an education or because he loves Georgia. He is honing his skills to make $million$ year after next. Tough loss for UGA, but good for him.
