But instead of celebrating it for what it is, AJC chose to point out that Kiffin (among others) was recruiting him. That.....is pathetic. UGA=the little brother trying to impress his older brother.

Mark Richt gets first commitment for Georgia’s 2010 football recruiting class | Inside College Recruiting: Michael Carvell

Headline; UGA out-recruits Kiffin. Wow guys, I don't think that's ever happened before  What's the deal here UGA fans? This has nothing to do with TN but you guys bring Kiffin into it like this was the only kid we were recruiting. Should the Bryce Brown headline have read; TN out-recruits the rest of the nation????

Agreed.

Did you also notice on the main rivals page that all of the rivals guys are predicting us to fail next season

Don't put this one on the fans. As a 'Dawg fan, I personally think this headline is horrible. But, it did the job that the AJC hoped it would do, which is to stir the fire under our rivals a little bit.

This kid was being recruited by a lot of schools and decided on UGA which, as the athlete stated, has been one of the 2 teams he rooted for and dreamed of playing for growing up. In a case like this, I seriously doubt that there was much recruiting in the first place. I believe that all this young man needed was an offer from UGA and he was there.

I made the statement on the AJC blog and I will state here again, that the headline the AJC came up with is crap.

Who cares. UGA will hold onto Richt for too long in much the same manner UT did with Fulmer. Enjoy the mediocrity UGA.

That's exactly my impression. Sort of like the "recruiting battle" over Eric Berry.

. . . but dishonest headline aside, they got exactly what they wanted; somebody linking the article on a message board.

I've always been a Georgia fan because I was born here. I love everything about Georiga. The stadium, UGA, the history and the tradition. I felt home there today.

When I told Coach Richt, he was ecstatic. It looked like he was going to cry or something. Than we just hugged and he took pictures with me and my family.

Saint Richt seemed awful stoked

They are calling out Kiffin, but to be fair the AJC is quick to point out if UT gets interest from a recruit, too. UGA fans are already tired of Kiffin headlines in Georgia.
