What makes it completely ridiculous is that the legislature just sent a bill to the Governor that would approve carrying a weapon on a college campus... and these two get charged with a felony and their lives potentially ruined for shooting solo cups with a BB gun.
Just stupid.
Regarding the proposed on-campus carry law, I don't understand the reasoning in allowing a student to take a gun to class and several other on-campus locations but not his dorm room. Maybe a longtime gun ownership supporter can explain that. I'm not trying to ignite a debate. I just want to understand the reasoning.
You should be able to carry a pistol to both if you are an adult 21 years of age. I, and every other law abiding citizen has a God given right of self defense. I bet that little pr!ck that shot up VA Tech would have been sorely disappointed has one of the professors or students painted the wall with his brains.
Not sure what tradition you're referring to. But I don't think you want to throw stones. These two had bb guns, not real guns. And they weren't robbing a storehttp://espn.go.com/college-football/news/story?id=4647094 or possessing real weapons and drugs Senior forward Tyler Smith among 4 Tennessee Volunteers players facing gun, drug charges. They were shooting dixie cups.
