UGA: 19-13-1 (5-6-1) Record UT: 22-9 (5-7)
UGA: 47 RPI UT: 17
UGA: 3.99 Team ERA UT: 2.79
UGA: .263 Team BA UT: .280
UGA: .370 On Base % UT: .367
UGA: 32/46 Stolen Bases/Attempts UT: 56/73
UGA: .970 Fielding % UT: .977
UGA: 40 Errors UT: 29
When you look at the season statistics and how each team ranks in the SEC, it's kind of hard to square how well UGA has done with their "near the bottom" ranks.
But if you look at SEC STATISTICS ONLY, one gets a much clearer picture. For instance, before yesterday's Clemson game, their ERA was 4.09, good for dead last in the league. However, if you look at their ERA versus the SEC, UGA is #2 with a 2.55 ERA, UT is #6 with an ERA of 3.35.
Georgia, under first year coach Scott Stricklen, got off to a slow start losing some games to the likes of Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, and Georgia State.
In the SEC, they lost series' to MSU and LSU, but have won their last two versus TAMU and Mizzou and they beat #14 Clemson yesterday 6-2. They are playing good ball as of late, and their pitching has improved in SEC play.
PITCHING
Note: Patrick Boling has been the Sunday starter for much of the year. He lost his spot in the rotation and he pitched 7 and 2/3 yesterday versus Clemson. We won't be seeing him this weekend.
Thursday: Jared Cheek (Jr. RHP) - 2.92 ERA, 5-3 w/l.
Friday: Ryan Lawlor (So. LHP - juco) - 3.95 ERA, 2-2 w/l, 43.1 IP, 47 H, 20 R, 19 ER, 16 BB, 33 SO, b/avg. .290
Saturday: Robert Tyler (Fr. RHP) - 1.37 ERA, 3-2 w/l, 46 IP, 32 H, 13 R, 7 ER, 10 BB, 38 SO, b/avg. .188
* Tyler leads UGA in every category as a true freshman.

The VOLS will start, N. Williams on Thursday, H. Martin on Friday and K. Serrano on Saturday...no surprise there.
SUMMARY
This is a big series for the Vols. Every opponent after this weekend, for us, is currently ranked in the polls.
UGA is a good team and are probably exceeding expectations. They are not SC and they don't have the pitching VU does. We've faced two of the best the SEC has to offer in back to back weeks.
If we play to the level we are capable, we should win this series and if it were a home series I'd go ahead and call it. However, the games will be played in Athens and anything can happen. I like our chances, winning the first game would be huge.
If our offense stays where it is and doesn't revert back, I believe we'll be in good shape.
GBO!!!
