First, UGA and Tennessee have not played a common opponent.

Georgia has played a rather weak schedule. The combined record of their opponents is 6 wins and 10 losses, Boise St. 2-2, So.Car. 1-3, Lou.Monroe 2-2, and Miss St. 1-3.

Tennessee has played a much tougher schedule. The combined record of our opponents is 9 wins and 6 losses; UAB 3-1, FL 3-1, LSU 2-1, Ole Miss 1-3.

If you discount GA's victories their opponents would be no better than 6-6 (.500 record).

If you discount TN's victories and one loss their opponents would be 8-3 (.727 record)

GA has played no team currently ranked in the top 25.

Tennesse has played 2 teams ranked in the top 10.

I like our chances from the experience point of view. Not only have we played the tougher teams, we have played 2 of them in their house and have done pretty well overall. Sure we lost to UF, but it wasn't really because they dominated us.

UGA has played one away game so far. Our crowd needs to make some noise this Saturday. We need to get into Shockley's head and give our defense some fuel.

We should win this game, but here are the stats that worry me a bit...

In the last 5 games that we have played against top 10 teams at home we are 0-5.

UGA is 16-2 in opposing stadiums under Richt, including victories against six teams ranked in the Top 25.

Again, I beg everyone to get out of their seats and make some noise this weekend. It's going to be a great game.

Yes, we need to be loud. I hate to say it, buy Neyland isn't as intimidating as Florida or LSU. We have the capacity and with that and the design of the stadium we should be REALLY loud.

But we're not. We need to change that.

But keeping with the theme of the thread, Georgia hasn't played a good opponent, we've played two. So analyzing stats is pretty meaningless. But if our offense doesn't wake up and execute we will need a Herculean effort out of our defense and at least an average performance out of special teams.

I think we are going see things like the used to be. LOUD!!!! I agree the crowd will feed of the offense and if they can show signs of moving the ball and capable of putting up points there will be no down time. Loud on both sides of the ball.

Also this is one of the best threads i have seen as far breaking the game down. I like the fact that UGA has not played much comp. yet and we have, so we should up to speed. I don't like, but enjoyed the take, that UGA is amazing on the road and they are 3-1 under Coach R against us.

I am expecting to eat 5lbs of potato chips and a lot of beer during this one.

I think the spread is dead on at 3.

Maybe i have missed it on one of the threads but if errr..... WHEN we win this, we aren't looking too bad to be back in the hunt if UGA can take care of UF at the Cocktail Party. Assuming we can run the table.

GO VOLS.

Interestingly enough though, LSU's home record is not that impressive.

Very true, their home record surely doesn't measure up to the reputation . . . The whole "Death Valley at night" thing is overblown. It's a tough place to play, but it's no worse than 5 or 6 other stadiums in the SEC.
