Uh, oh Nick Fairley...

Sounds like just the type of story that gets floated by a team that actually wants him.

But i cant imagine it being untrue. His dirty play said a lot about him.

This was posted this morning by Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer:

We'll get back to updates on the labor situation as soon as there's tangible proof any fan is interested.
But while the big business of football is happening in Washington this week, the football is happening on campuses across America.
This is a big week for pro day workouts, beginning with tomorrow's at Auburn.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera is expected to be there to eyeball QB Cam Newton -- and ostensibly DT Nick Fairley, though he's not thought to be in the mix for the top pick.
Rivera raised more than a few eyebrows with his effusive praise of Newton at the combine, comparing his size and strength to successful QBs such as Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco.*
Tuesday, he'll get a first-hand look at Newton again, as the Panthers consider what to do with the first choice in the draft.

He's gone from being the most likely option for the #1 pick to not not really being even in the mix.

The stereotype is that JUCO players aren't as smart, hard-working, and well coached. They are also viewed by many clubs as players most likely to have had off-field troubles in the past and potentially more in the future. The source refused to go into specifics, but said, "Everyone is coming down hard on the quarterback, but [Fairley] is the one to worry about."

is anyone even disputing this? And he does look "soft"
