Next years team may be the most talented team in the history of cbb. 5 years from now we will know but they could have 6 or 7 of the top 20 draft choices.

1 Darius Miller Guard 6-7 228 JR/2L Maysville, Ky. (Mason County)
2 Stacey Poole Guard 6-4 195 FR/HS Jacksonville, Fla. (Providence)
3 Terrence Jones Forward 6-8 244 FR/HS Portland, Ore. (Jefferson)
4 Jon Hood Guard 6-7 202 SO/1L Madisonville, Ky. (North Hopkins)
5 Jarrod Polson Guard 6-2 185 FR/HS Nicholasville, Ky. (West Jessamine)
20 Doron Lamb Guard 6-4 195 FR/HS Queens, N.Y. (Oak Hill Academy)
30 Eloy Vargas Forward 6-11 250 JR/TR Moca, Dominican Republic (Miami-Dade CC)

Brandon Knight is continuing Cal's streak of 1 and done NBA talent that goes back to Memphis.

??Anthony Davis, PF 6'10" 200lbs. HS Perspectives Charter School (IL)

?? Michael Gilchrist, SF 6'7" 210lbs. HS St. Patrick H.S. (NJ)

??Marquis Teague, PG 6'2" 175lbs. HS Pike H.S. (IN)

??Kyle Wiltjer, PF 6'9" 221lbs. HS

For some perspective, Kyle is the worst ranked person in their recruiting class and he is 5th nationally at his position according to ESPN. He is ranked a bit higher than anyone we have had except for Tobias under Pearl. Every other player they have coming in is #1 at their position.

They have 7 or 8 NBA players on this roster. Go ahead and look at Pitino's best Kentucky teams, or North Carolina teams, Kansas, Duke. Find me a better overall roster for talent...

I hate Calipari but he may be the best recruiter I've ever seen. If only for a year, he coached the best basketball player in the world.

Rose is not clearly better to me than Kobe or D Wade or Lebron or even Rondo. Rondo has to be the guttiest player going right now. I just look at the players UK has coming back and the class they have coming in and I cannot believe it.

Michigans group I think did not collectively have the NBA careers I expect of that UK roster from next season.

Rose is clearly better than Rondo. It's not even close.

Yeah its a great class, but the team took another big hit today. Looks like Liggins will be staying in the draft. Next years team still has the potential to be special though, in a big way.

His triple doubles and complete control of the offense would like to argue with you. Derrick Rose is one of the best scoring players. and he has a very Jordanesque drive to will his team to win. but what Rondo does for the Celtics and what Rose does for the Bulls are not only so vastly different that they shouldn't be compared, but are in fact so equal in importance to their teams that to say "it's not even close" is pretty hilarious.

Take either from their teams and both shut down offensively.

Exactly. Take Rondo away from the Celtics, and they're left with a pathetic roster consisting of 3 Hall of Famers.

Rondo is an excellent point guard, but one can make a very strong case that he's excellent because he's surrounded by excellence. Rondo would be a good point guard anywhere, but he's only better than good because he's in Boston. If a GM was asked right now which point guard in the League he would start a team with, it's Rose over Rondo 10 times out of 10. In fact, Rondo wouldn't might not even be in the top 3.

Pooch you are either a huge bulls fan our watch too much sportscenter. Id take wade, lebron, kobe, durant, or chris paul over rose. Rose is good but best in the world is a bit of an overstatement.

Liggins was more vital to next years team than Jones. IMO

No doubt about that, 100%. Jones has a great game, but with whats coming in next year he is the first of those three that we could really lose without dropping off at a position.

I think that's very debatable. Rose better scorer and can take over. Rondo better leader and distributor, with rings. Not really a wrong answer, Just depends what you are looking for.

Rondo has one ring and has three potential HOFers to distribute too.

I love Rondo but don't think he's as effective if there aren't pieces around him.

Rondo ended up in the perfect situation for him, and he has made the most of it. From the playoff games I have seen this year, it looks like people still don't guard him near the 3-pt line, just like in college. I don't think Rondo could join a bad team and make them any better, but he is a great PG for Boston. Rondo is nowhere near Rose's level, IMO. I invite someone who follows the NBA more than I do to disagree, but that's my take.

Imo, rose is more of a two guard playing point. True point guards are guys like williams, rondo and paul.

Completely agree with you. The simplest way to compare the two would be to just have them switch teams. Put Rose with Boston and they would be wayyyyyyy better than Rondo with Chicago. Rose is the more elite player and does everything Rondo can do and actually hit a 3

If Rondo can't get to the rim his offensive game is non existent. Rose can score in multiple ways.

How do you think the rotation will play out?

My initial guess is

Teague
Lamb
Miller
Jones
Davis

But it matters little, because those 5 along with Gilchrist and wiltjer will all play the same amount of minutes. Lamb will play backup point guard when teague is out, wiltjer and Davis will see action at the same time often because they both shoot it from 3 well. Hood still can't play D and Poole has no resemblance of an offensive game, but they will spell 4 or 5 minutes per game along with Vargas if he doesn't pack his bags and split.

Scoring is available at every position.

Calipari is a ridiculous recruiter! Joker needs to hire him as a consultant for the football team.

Agree with your 5.

Would like to see Poole really make huge strides in the offseason- I think that he will. Not enough to start, but enough to pass Hood on the depth chart.

Winning begets better recruits. Gotta win first.
