Was flipping through the tv after UTs game last night and seen this on FSS. Anyone got comments? Personally, I wasn't that impressed but it was just an exhibition game. I liked Cauley-Steins game and Noel looked huge but pretty raw. I'll stick my predictions that UK isn't a top 10 team, will lose a few early, but will be pretty good come March. I could really see them as a team you don't want to play in the 2nd round but they don't really scare you like any of Cals past teams. Any UK fans care to share? How does this team stack up to last years team? How many games do you guys drop this season?

I will also say that UK REALLY stepped it up in the 2nd half. Trans. couldn't have scored more than 15 points in the 2nd half? That was impressive.

UK was up 27-18 at the half, then went on a run in the 2nd half and ended up winning 74-28.

They can really play like typical freshmen, but I'm excited about Julius Mays. I think that he can bring a calming influence as a Senior for the young guys.

I liked Mays as well. They will need him. What I saw was about the worst attempt to run the dribble drive in history during the first half. They were matched against a DIII school and couldn't even get into the lane. :banghead2:

In the second half they went more pick and roll. That opened up a lot of opportunities and their offensive rebounding finally normalized to what it should be against such an inferior opponent. If Cauley-Stein puts forth the same level of effort in every game then he is a first round pick.

Noel reminds me a lot of Terrence Jones. He's either hot or cold. Lots of mistakes and a tough time handling the ball.

Goodwin seemed to move out-of-control. I am reserving judgement, but I almost think I am going to miss Teague.

Poythress seems a much more physical player than Gilchrist was, but his motor and move to the basket aren't even close to MKG.

If these guys get chemistry they might end up being a Sweet 16/Elite 8 squad.

I love how Mays looks. He could end up being Darius Miller-like towards the end of the season.
