Oh. Lord.

How do you screw that up?

If someone doesn't lose their job over that then they should just fire their commissioner. The WKU coach is partly to blame because he didn't bring it to their attention.

Did no one in the gym realize it?

Ref 1 "Hey, you guys see the 6 players...?"
Ref 2 "I really dont feel like it..."
Ref 3 "Lets just leave"
Ref 1 "Good idea, they wont notice"
Ref 3 'Ty"

Sucks for WKU, but how the heck did no one on their bench point this out, or better yet, Ken McDonald?

ULL's coach pulled a Dooley and managed to get away with it. Good for him. Stinks to be WKU, though.

McDonald is losing his job, count on that. Of course that trainwreck started way before this incident. I have season tix to WKU, but didn't attend this game. I understand that a friend of mine (retired marine) had to be escorted out by police afterward, while trying to get to either a Ref or McDonald, which are both entities that he despises.

Getting calls from a few friends in the AD that McDonald resigned this morning, news to break soon. Not that it's news, Stevie Wonder knew this was coming.

I can't believe an asst coach or player didn't notice and go ballistic. I turned the volume down and asked my 9 yr old what looked wrong with the video and he said, "the red team has 6 players and you only play with 5". Yeah the refs jacked it up, but wtf? What was everyone else looking at? Aren't there @ 7 coaches on the bench and another 10 players?

On sportscenter it was #1 in the top blunders of the week. It was a hot mess. The refs HAVE to be suspended or something. And yes that is incompetence on the part of the coaching staff.

It should be #1 of the year...well, so far at least :p

The refs sucked, and that is a given. But WKU is in man-to-man defense...and there's one person not covered, standing out there all alone. That's poor coaching both on the floor, and by the fact that WKU's players don't have the sense to recognize that there is someone uncovered.

Inexcusable. As a WKU grad, they needed to can McDonald, but I'm not certain what they gain by doing it in midseason.

they have enough talent to compete for the Sun Belt, but McDonald had completely lost the locker room and any motivation for the players. It has been a trainwreck here in BG, and I cannot remember attendance being this bad in a long time. It wasn't getting any worse, so lets make the move.
