UN, Step Up

So does Quaddafi!

Qaddafi Lauds Obama, Then Launches Into Rambling Attack on U.N. - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News - FOXNews.com

I watched most of Qaddafi's speech and it was hilarious. A few take aways

1. Europe has plundered Africa and Latin America and that is why people from these countries emmigrate to Europe (to get their wealth back). MQ estimates the value at $7.7 trillion and said if Europe gives that to Africa and Latin America, people will stop coming to Europe. (also said that along with plundering oil and natural resources that Europe took Africa's fruits and vegetables -- WTF?)

2. To relieve the U.S. of the burden of paying for the UN and fearing for security, the UN should be moved to Africa or elsewhere in the southern hemisphere. (hell, I might support that). Part of the reason too was that he was tired from traveling (as he suggested others were) and he should be in bed by now in Libya -- it's not fair that he has to give a speech while he's tired basically.

3. Endless rants about the unfairness of veto power on Security Council, war crimes of U.S. and Europe, etc. etc. Good stuff all the way around. Much more entertaining than the Lecturer-in-chief's spiel.

His notes were on notebook paper torn out of a spiral bound notebook with the tattered edges still on there. He needed no teleprompter...

too bad we left the nuts :)

and it was good that Obama opened for Quaddafi since that would be a hard act to follow. Kinda like Carrot Top opening for Dane Cook

I would be all for moving the UN to some serene African paradise like Mogadishu.

The shores of Lake Victoria in Tanzania.....

It's funny how sarcastic he was being about our efforts to provide security - he referred to the past bombing attempts and hinted we could get hit again.

Further, he suggested that security would either be easier or not a concern if the UN were in Africa...

He also had a goofy hat on with his dyed perm sticking out like bozo from under it on the sides. Looked like one of those hats the hair attached to it. All in all, it was a great speech.

Oh darn I missed Obama's speech today. I'll assume there was ample insulting of the US.

and the previous administration.

There's a new sheriff in town and he'll give you a good scolding if you break the law (then tell you how we are just as bad).

ok after seeing how things went down, i have to retract my statement of agreeance. I DO think the UN needs to step up to the plate and actually help, not just ask for help. Personally pull out of the worthless organization and watch it collapse
