Personally i dont think he would be great but I would like to see him get a job to get off the hook for some of his buyout. We should market this. Then we could enjoy Cucliffe beating his eye shut every year.

I'm hoping Maryland sees him as some sort short-term stabilizer/penance and hires him.

He gets a $12 million buyout now. That's what happens to programs who overreact to one good season.

There were more than a few on here actively promoting him.

ETA: Of course, there were few coaches around the country our fan base didn't suggest in 2012, so there is that.

Yeah i remember people saying Mike Gundy wasnt the brains behind those offenses that it was Fedora. Some said our offenses would be explosive. Im paraphrasing obviously. I for one had no idea who he was at the time. I had to google him. Lol

I think they ask Satterfeld at App State. Native of NC, has done a good job building the program. They desperately need someone who can recruit the state vs NCSU, Duke and even Wake. Butch might get an interview but I’d be shocked if they offer him. He probably never even thought about it but all those cigar smoking pictures raises concerns for schools which are image conscious and UNC is definitely one of them.

UNC should be more worried about fake classes than a prospective coach smoking a cigar.

I'm not sure Butch is cut out for any P5 job, even one where expectations are low. The Central Michigan job is open - he should look there.
