Heard on the news that a union rep referred to the deal as a $60 billion deal.
If you're healthcare is negotiated as part of a collective bargaining agreement (union) you are exempt from the tax on Cadillac plans.
Complete and utter BS
I think it's closer to $80 bn but more importantly it's a violation of principle.
This reminds me so much of a book I once read that was written by a KGB agent who was stationed in Tehran, Iran when the Shah was deposed.
He went into detail about how the KGB had been trying to forment disorder in order to force out the pro-western Shah and wondered whether Carter was just supid as a box of rocks or was working in league with Moscow. (He surmised the latter, after all he was an intelligence agent.)
After the disintegration of the USSR and some of the KGB files came to light, it was confirmed that not only Carter but several of the top honchos in the Democrat Party were working with Moscow.
The writer, who just barely was able to escape across the Turkish border before being caught also went into great detail about life in the USSR for the average person vs members of the communist party.
For the average Joeski, simply getting a loaf of bread meant standing in line a minimum of four hours and even then sometimes coming away empty and it was that way for most everything, you could go in a state run store but that didn't mean there would be any merchandise on the shelves.
For the party member though, the food store had expensive caviar or anything else your heart might desire, including a wide assortment of meats that the non party member almost never had any of, any time you wanted it, cost free.
The pure arogance of the democrats in washington that say they don't have to participate in this program but I do, really makes me mad enough to shoot a few of them and I don't need to feel lonely either. :furious3:
