Seems like I remember him being a lineman, but I am not positive.

You're right . . .

He also played offensive tackle for the Vols before transfering to Carson Newman.

I still don't remember him though.

This is sorta off-topic but related. A Church of Christ minister was killed in Selmer (a nearby town) and his wife is a suspect.

I went to Elementry School, and High School with Richard.

Very very sad. He played at Oak Ridge and graduated with me in 1992. Played lineman at UT sparingly for a couple of years and I think transferred to Carson Newman. Played on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad a few years, bounced around the NFL on practice teams and went back to Oak Ridge.

He was always a super super nice guy growing up. Very very sad.

Suicide-a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
Not that it justifies anything, but was he not a possible suspect in some felony class crime?
Children are such vulnerable victims.

AS of this morning she was charged with all of the killings. Sad...very sad, makes you wonder what happened though?

Richard Howard was a hugh Offensive lineman from Oak Ridge who was about 6-7 and weighed 300# (My brother-in-law from Oak Ridge knew him). He was at UT about the early 90's. Had a world of talent but never could be motivated to break out of the pack. I don't think he ever lettered. Shame he never used his God given talent. It might have saved the tradjity for him and his beautiful little girls.

You really have to wonder what could have been going through his mind.

In the end, a bullet

(I'm sorry, I can't resist the sick humor some times)

According to the article he played offesenive tackle for UT. I also don't remember him but it sounds like he wasn't a Vol for long. Very sad story. It's a shame if he was that unhappy with his life that he had to take his two kids down with him. :(

As far as the preacher's wife killing her husband, that's been all that's been on the national tv the past few days. From all reports they were a very liked and normal couple. It just goes to prove you never really know someone I guess. Both stories are very sad. Thoughts & prayers for everyone involved.

As a father and pediatrician, basically my entire life revolves around taking care of children. The thought of doing anything to intentionally harm one, especially your own, is probably the most disgusting notion that I could imagine. The only explanation I can bear to accept is that of mental insanity.

tradjity? Come on RockyDoc.

It is a reflection of society. I wonder what the story is behind the preacher that got offed. I bet we'll read he was beating her or the children.

I also went to High School with him. The scary thing is he was the nicest of all his brothers and cousins and he was very personable.
