I think the last time UT beat at least 3 ranked teams in a regular season was 2007 (6 ranked teams that year). 2001

Check your source again. We only beat two ranked teams in the regular season in 2007 (#12 UGa and #15 USCe). We beat a third, #18 Wisconsin, in the Outback Bowl.

Some more nice stats to consider, these about our starting QB:
  • This season, Hendon Hooker is throwing even more efficiently than last year: 98 of 140 for a 70.0% success rate. Last year he was 68.2%.
  • Hooker's average pass is good for 10.2 yards; last season was 9.8 yards.
  • Through five games, he has already thrown for 1,432 yards. That's on pace for ~3,700 yards by the end of the year, assuming 13 games. Which is awfully close to the single-season record held by Peyton (3,819).
  • Hendon is one of only three starting quarterbacks in FBS to have thrown zero interceptions in 2022 (the other two are the QBs for Oklahoma and Vandy, of all places).
Go Vols!
