I'm not sure why that's surprising.... we were 7 beat a highly ranked team and people above us lost. None of it matters until Saturday. And then that does not matter unless we win and do it in the SEC. Beating Arizona would be a big statement for our offense because I'm not worried about our defense stifling them.. but wow, dem airballs.

Well, aren't u a ray of sunshine ;) ... we are only 5 spots away from where we want to be. Hundreds of others would love to be where we are. Enjoy it as we go! :)

Not being a pessimist here, but TN seems to struggle with Alabama way more than they should in basketball. Even when TN was vastly superior, something about Bama made the game way to close or even a surprising loss.

Having them be successful and highly ranked doesn't bode well. Hope TN can blow them out this year

Terribly difficult game more often than not. We'll see how it goes this year.

So you're just saying that because you want you're team to be ranked 1 everything should just happen that way arbitrarily? If we keep winning we will reach the rank we deserve. We have a good enough schedule that if we lay down the wood we will get the goods.. that being said.. have your seen our offense? If we were ranked number 1 right now I would lose all respect for people voting. We have an L and not a particularly good L. Right now we are the equivalent of Iowas football team. World class defense and less than 0 offense. As evidenced in our first loss there is gonna a game where are defense is just good and not great.. and we will lose.


We took an L to Colorado... they are 5-5 and it wasn't a close game. Their 12 point win against us was sandwiched between losses to Grambling and Umass. So yes I'm a ray of sunshine indeed. We are ranked at 6th and unless our offense wakes up that's the best it gets this season. After Austin Peay the rest of our season is a battle. every team in the SEC we play is better than Colorado. Our only other OOC game left after these next 2 that is vs #7 Texas. So yeah, Every other team we play going forward is better than the team that beat us by 12

We just need a good healthy roster before league play starts and we will win our fair share. We are deep…if everyone’s contributing we will be in the mix for top 5 most of the year

I wouldn't call Texas a traditional power. Maybe they are, but I don't recall hearing them in company with those other schools. Gonzaga has become a power. Indiana has almost lost it's tradition.

No. What I'm saying is enjoy the ride while you're on it. Everyone paying attention can see the warts. When the glass is 98% it's not good to stay focused on the 2% ... unless your one of the coaches.

Oh I'm definitely enjoying seeing this team. Just keeping it in perspective. We need Vescovi and JJJ healthy that's the main reason for our offensive decline when one or both of them is out its bad because they are the most consistent offensive players. the ascension of Aidoo, Phillips and now Awaka is going to be awesome for later in the season. all our other layers are more streaky offensively without those 2 in.

If this team is healthy going forward the sky is the limit.. right now its health holding us back. But it also allows guys (awaka and aidoo) to get playing time they wouldn't if JJJ was healthy. Mashack has benefited from the time Vescovi has been out.

One things go sho. We ain't lacking depth. Yeah, those opening from injury allow others to step up. Awaka handled business v Maryland the other day using Aidoo's minutes. At least to my untrained eyes.
