Yeah, I guess Bowles RS last year, and seeing as he didn't have the benefit of great coaching...
But still surprising he's being outperformed (or so it would seem) by Josh Smith. At least based on HS evals. By stupid recruiting services. Maybe I just hit the nail on the head. Haha.

what about Jason Carr? He was supposed to make an immediate impact?

I'm excited about him. & the upcoming Henderson (maybe just partial to DL'men with the last name Henderson...haha).
But, I think he's just developing and SEC DL muscle and body, most likely. I didn't expect him to do much this year other than develop.

Thanks for all the info, btw guys.

I'm hoping McNeil (who is definitely getting PT) continues to develop. Highly touted, and would like to see him become great.

Phillips was a huge reach to begin with. Was committed to UF for like a year, and they wouldn't admit him so Dools pulled some strings. Problem was he was too fat to tie his own shoes. And slow (in multiple ways).

Taylor was a similar situation except with Miami. The common theme with Dooley's recruiting...take other's rejects if they are highly rated. Rolled the dice on a lot of problem kids. Same with Bonner.

The rest of those are still there and should have solid careers.

From what Burch has said about Riyadh Jones, it will take a while for him to get back into football condition. I don't believe that it has been more than 3 weeks, at the most, since he received medical clearance. I imagine that we will see him soon, if only for depth purposes and to keep our starters from playing too many reps each week.

Orta - plays on every kick off
Latroy Lewis - played d-end quite a bit against Austin Peay and Western Kentucky. Once the level of competition picked up, he hasnt seen any action; which is understandable considering we have so many d-ends that are Sr/Jr.

Ah, I hadn't noticed. Maybe cause I watch at a bar every week where there either is no sound on the game, or hard to hear sound. Ha.

Good that they're getting snaps/experience, and hope they continue to develop to contribute someday at their natural positions.

At least now, with this coaching staff, I have more confidence that people that have potential, they will find a way to develop that, and figure out how to utilize them.

I recall there being high expectations for playing time for Lewis as a true freshman prior to his injury. Is he still not 100%?
