There are plenty of guys we will know about well before February.

Jesse Scroggins
Kyle Prater USC obviously out front, but ND depending on how they finish and OU same have a shot still. I think Zook killed the chances for Illinois with the start they have had.
Ronald Powell
This guy is probably headed for UF. We all need to hope and pray he goes to USC. No shot for us.
James Hurst still playing for Butch Davis and weak ACC bowls his whole career.
Robert Crisp will stay with NC State
Tyson Chandler Also will stay with NC State
Matt Elam Will commit to Charlie Strong months before he leaves UF.
Jeff Luc May be UT bound, I do not want my heart broken, but I feel better and better here!
Demar Dorsey Will be in Gainesville as well.
T.J. Leifheit Will be on a great OL with Hurst.
JaWuan James Will be a Vol.
Dietrich Riley Very hard to say, I said more on the secondary run down thread.
Morgan Moses Hard to know at this point.

Apparently X is saying that Leifheit wanted to commit and we said no. IF that is true, and it is a big if to me, it means that Pair is not coming and that UT will get JaWuan James, Chaz Green, John Cullen and Morgan Moses or Damien Robinson. Can you believe the recruiting prowess of a staff that does not necessarily need James Stone?

All of these guys will be safely in the fold in January.

Jacques Smith DE
Jose Jose OL
Tyler Bray QB I love that his family is moving here also. I think that will be great.
Channing Fugate FB
Brandon Willis DT
Corey Miller DE
Pat Harris DL Anyone hear anything about JUCO grades for him? Is he playing at all after the ankle sprain? Only concern on the list is Pat.
Matt Milton WR

Most current internet buzz goes to:

Christian Green
Chaz Green
UT Parents, loved his official, is recruiting for us.
Christian Jones
Official Visit October 31 USCe game. If Monte Kiffin could pair him with...
Jeff Luc
We lost out on Travis Williams, we are still hoping for something from Khairi Fortt and Josh Shirley but Jeff Luc is our #1 LB prospect. Getting a Haitian kid out of Florida once seemed impossible, but it is looking better and better that he will be hosting parties at his uncles lake house in East TN for 3-4 years. Newberg now says it is us and UF 50/50.

On the defensive line we already have a fantastic class on the ends. It looks like there we would add Lemonier if we could get him, but we are close to done. We would lose Copeland but we would be happy to do it if we got Chris Martin to decommit from ND or TJ Stripling to drop UGA.

On DTs, we are still hard after lots of guys. We would love to switch Kelcy Quarles, we want Sharrif Floyd to go to Ohio State (real possibility) instead of Florida and we have a really good shot at Jeffrey Whitaker (Jeffrey Whitaker - Yahoo! Sports) who was a big part of the bye week push by the top guys. We also talked to Michael Thornton. I hear that we will take 1 JUCO and 1 HS but I feel like if we could get Whitaker and Quarles we would not take a JUCO DT.

At RB it seems to me from how hard we are pushing for Mack Brown that we may not be doing well with Seastrunk (LSU) Dyer (Arkansas who helped themselves by almost beating UF or Auburn) and Lattimore (USCe almost certainly). For most of us, this registers very low on the care meter because we love our RB depth. If we missed on M Brown, we still are in it somewhat for G Bernard, and lots of potential guys like Gore. I want Dyer most, maybe the coaches do also, and I will be freaking thrilled if we can get him.

At WR we are in it for some of the top guys, committed and not. Shocking to me. We only take 1. We would give Christian Green a shot at WR even if he ended up on defense.

Great post too. I know that it is more then 50/50 for Luc. I would put it at like 65/35 us.

Wow. So either the staff has better guys already committed or close to it, or, TJ just isnt really that good. What say you?

IDK if your talking to me or not but ill answer. IMO its a mixture of both. If they knew they didnt sit really well with some really good OL(like listed above) then they wouldnt turn him down. But turning him down means that they think he isnt as good as rated.

It is not that TJ is not that good.

I do think I fell for putting too much stock in the value of an EE.

Juco is not the route this staff wants to go. They believe in player development and their goal is to win with their players. If they have to take lumps next year they will, but they know they will either have a problem child JC transfer QB, a skinny true freshman or a guy who could not beat out Crompton.

I wish I could sit down and get Cregg on the record about Morgan Moses, because although most of us want him badly, he may be too big for what they are planning.

JuWuan James, and Damien Robinson and Chaz Green I know they are very high on, and they seem to like Cullen a good bit as well.

Think again about the fact that this staff may not need James Stone and did not need TJ Leifheit.

They are headed to a number 1 class as Kiffin predicted and there is no way that Fulmer would not have salivated over and accepted both of the above guys.

I also think that M Pair is not coming, but I could be wrong. He is a guy who they think they can develop into something good, but I think they did not anticipate finishing as strongly as they are going to on the OL.

We missed on Seantrel and some Indiana and NC guys who stayed in state, but what the staff has done recruiting wise is crazy.

It didn't have anything to do with other prospects. They just didn't like his senior film and didn't think he was good enough to play at Tennessee.

The OL board looks like this:

1A James
1B Green
3 Cullen
4 Shon Coleman

5 Stone
6 Robinson

The top 4 are all coveted highly the others are down the list right now, still may be takes though.

The unknown is Moses as they haven't gotten to see him yet.

Ya that was addressed to the board in general but thanx for answering.

Why would Pair not come? The last SC newspaper article I read mentioned that he is firm in his commitment. The staff would look bad by pulling an offer they made.

Staff will not pull it. They will encourage him to look around if they decide to do it in a classy way. It will look like he just changed his mind. Happens a lot in recruiting at top programs like UF and Alabama and USC. We are headed that way. You take a kid early, better kids want to come later, he changes his mind and decommits. It is in part what many people think happened at UF with the South Carolina kid Victor Hampton. It is why many (including me) think UF is poised to have a sick secondary class this year.

I may have missed it but I didn't see Demarco Cobbs on your list. Will he also be an EE?

...also, when will Markeith Ambles enroll?

Cobbs from what I understand will not be an EE and neither will Ambles.

We thought at one time that Ambles would be an EE, but now he will not be.

John Cullen was also supposed to be an EE but now will not be.

I have full faith in our staff to bring us to a recruiting level that we have not had at UT in a very long time. We are well on our way with who we already have and who we are going after...

I am very excited about who we are going to bring in on our DL with this class. Brandon Willis, Corey Harris, Jacques Smith will all be nasty upfront but don't forget about John Brown, J.C. Copeland, Risean Broussard, and Pat Harris. If we can get some blue chip recruits on the DL then I think we will make room and let Harris or Copeland go but as of right now it's not looking bad at all.

I have really started to like current LB commit Michael Taylor. I think he is better than I previously thought and his 3 * rating would indicate but I think we need to pull a couple more LBs with our current depth issue. I would love to pick up a couple of big name guys like Josh Shirley or C.J. Mosely (I haven't heard much about Mosely for a while. Last I heard it was between Bama and Auburn but he looks like a beast.) Then there is the big one, Jeff Luc. I think he will be a Vol and that’s all I am going to say about that.

There are several names out there for the secondary that I am sure we would take if we wanted but we are not hurting with our depth there like we are in other positions. Riley is kind of hard to read but I think we are making a strong showing for him. We missed out on Elam but it shows that our staff is not afraid to go after and recruit anyone, even FL commits. Keenan Allen has everyone after him so we will have to make an impression if we want him. Same thing with CBs. Lamarcus Joyner is high on everybody's list but like Keenan Allen you never know. Plus there is Cody Riggs, Victor Hampton, and now Nickell Robey from GA that are all looking at us and could end up wearing orange and white next year. I think we might come away with a 1 or 2 from this group in the secondary. I also think Ted Meline ends up on this side of the ball. He is really quick and with his height would be able to match up with bigger WRs.

I think the Offense is really starting to shape up. With Tyler Bray I think we will be set at QB, maybe take a JUCO like Cam Newton but for some reason I don't think we will. Bray is good, has great size with a huge upside, a very quick release and as accurate as anyone else in this class, he's got to add weight but if he does he could be our guy as early as next year.

Our WRs we are bringing in will set us up for greatness. Ambles already bleeds orange and is one of our biggest recruiters. Demarco Cobbs is going to be unbelievable and with his size and speed he will be creating mismatches all over the place. Matt Milton has got the ability to be great and like I said, I think Meline ends up on D.

I think we make a push for 1 RB but with our depth we don't take anymore than that. I would like Michael Dyer or maybe turn Mack Brown but I think we would take Giovanni Bernard if we miss out on some other guys.

TE seems to be ok. Maybe we get a surprise here but I haven't really heard about any TEs that are that interested in us. ATH Delvin Jones will play TE so that maybe why and even though he has been looking around a little bit, he will be a Vol.

Our OL, like everyone else, is the only thing that I have my concerns with. I really wanted T.J. Leifheit and thought he was high on us so I hope everyone is right that we have our eyes on bigger fish and didn't take his commitment for that reason. Chaz Green and Morgan Moses would be HUGE. Time will only tell with these two but man I hope we get both of them. Both John Cullen and Jawuan James will be playing for Tennessee. I am still really high on Arie Kouandjio and he would be a great pick up for sure. It would also give us a head start on his kid brother who is already a monster. I am not real big on James Stone and I haven't been since he got man handled by Jacques Smith in our camp this summer but with our current situation I think we would take him if we miss out on some of these other guys. With only 3 current commitments, Zach Fulton, Jose Jose and Marques Pair we will have to get some more big uglies regardless. I have heard a lot of back and forth on Pair but I think he will be a VOL and will surprise a lot of people in his career. He has got a good build with room to bulk up and at 6'6" I think he will fit in nicely with some of our other OL guys.

Doesn't seem like Cam's an option anymore

Agree, Simms is more likely of the two but like I said earlier I don't think it will happen for a JUCO QB this year. Simms couldn't hack it at Louisville and Cam Newton has the same story with FL so I don't know if we would take either. If we do take a JUCO QB I think it will be for depth purposes only. Neither of them are what Kiffin & Co. want to build the program around.

P Harris is gone. The EE period should help us focus as we make a final push for football recruiting. We may well end up with AA game commitments also.
