how many scholarships will we be able to offer in 2012 ? i

Total of 13 schollys with no NCAA reduction, the 2012 roster would look like this:

Sophomores:
Richardson
Yemi
Washpun
Chievous

Juniors:
Golden
McRae

Seniors:
Hall
Maymon
McBee

So, without any scholarship limitations or any defections, we can take 4 in the 2012 class.

*** Not sure if Swiper was granted a redshirt this year.

He's asking for a medical redshirt for last season due to numerous injuries and setbacks with them. Mainly his ankle

Those in the know are predicting a class of Stokes, Jordan Adams, Shaq Goodwin and Damien Wilson for Memphis in 2012, with a possible kicker of Anthlon Bell depending on schollies. Not too shabby.

Really, cause I have heard a probable class for UT of Goodwin, Stokes, Poythress, and Jordan Adams... Interesting that 75% of our classes will consist of the same players... we should both be pretty good eh? lol

Yep. Of course, the coach that has a history of recruiting 5 star players from the Southeast would probably have the dramatic edge over the coach who recruits 2 and 3 star players from the Midwest in that battle. Not to mention the coach who just landed a teammate of Jordan Adams and Goodwin.

May the best recruiter win, though.

We already have 2 former teammates from the ATL Celtics in McRae and Golden. Big whoop... At some point players are going to see the recruiting rankings and look at where CJP's teams are finishing the season at and see the massive disconnect. You can't keep bringing in top classes and finishing 4th in CUSA and expect those big name recruits outside of Memphis to keep coming. I have this feeling that before long, UT will have its choice of players from St Louis and ATL. With those 2 cities, who needs Memphis players? I'd still like to have a couple mainly to ignite the fuse within your fanbase, but we wouldn't need em.

When Pastner has shown a pattern of bringing in top classes yet not performing up to snuff, then maybe I'll worry. Right now, he has had one year with guys that he brought in, and in that year he won 24 games, his conference tournament, and made it to the dance in his second year of coaching (something CCM failed to do). He'll be a fine coach.

So, you are saying that Memphis=MO ST now? That Pastner didn't do anything to bring in the class previous to the Bartons so the way he coached and got results(or lack thereof) out of his first season of coaching doesn't matter?

Why bump this in December? You might wanna wait til Dec 12 before you bump this. Unless you don't mind being a hypocrit... :)

Pastner brought in the previous class with JJ etc. Had UM gone a different route, UM may not have held any of that class together. With Pastner, you guys were able to hang onto Cal's scraps and are getting most of the top talent in Memphis. Either give CCM a pass this season or own Pastner's first season. You can't just pick and choose what criteria you want to pass judgement on. lol

I'm not being a hypcrite at all, and I'm beginning to believe that you don't know what half the words or phrases you use actually mean.

CCM COMPLETELY gets a pass this season. They both should get passes their first years. I've never said anything different. My issue is with fans, like yourself, that want to have it both ways. Pastner sucks cause he only won 24 games his first year, but CCM gets a pass and Pastner doesn't. It doesn't make sense.

You said you were going to bump the other thread in December... How is that giving CCM a pass? That is what started this debate. I suggested if you wanna bring this up in December why not talk about Pastner's first season? Yet I'm the one that wants it both ways?

Look, I LOVE UT football, but basketball is my game. Hence why 75% of my posts are in the basketball forum. I assure you, just because I left an "e" off the end of hypocrite, I fully understand the term. I type quick, errors will happen from time to time. If you are going to nit-pick at things like that, maybe you are running out of ammo...

To show the fans in that thread that they were wrong. I WAS talking about Pastner's first season, I think I've said that now in four different posts in two different threads.

Bumping to laugh at delusional fans, not laugh at CCM doing the best he can with a ishtty situation.

Just expect those fans to light you up with Pastner's first season... or last season... or potentially this season depending on whether or not he can keep a handle on his team.

Sigh. I give up man. I don't see how I can make this point any other way.

Lol... its ok MC... Every fanbase has some delusional fans, but why pick on the crazy fans? Why not just debate and have fun instead of turn it into a pissing contest?

A pipeline to the Memphis and Atlanta AAU teams is a scary thing.

Did somebody up in here try to pretend that Pastner coaches?
