Due to our size and limitations we gamble quite a bit. That and giving up some easy shots because of the press will hurt of defensive stats all season.

uga is alot like us... but teams that could give us trouble is vandy, kentucky, and maybe bama...

Not sure on Vandy, and we have already taken UGA once... 'bama does have some big guys that can cause problems... and no way Wingate can cover UK's Morris under the basket...

i dont see how people dont understand it. its quite simple, with the schemes we run, we arent gonna yield a low amount of points every game. thats the negative to running the press and such. we only put as many points up as we do, because we get into races with the other teams.

If you notice too, the stats are for the entire season - not just the SEC.

For example - UF has a scoring margin of 18+ points on the year but in the SEC, it's under 10+ per game. Ours on the other hand is about 9+ in the SEC and 10+ overall. Clearly, some of UF's stat leadership is a result of their non-conference schedule. Other than UK, we probably had the toughest non-conference sched.

The stat that has me worried for both of us is offensive rebounds. So important in the NCAA.

I didn't go back and look but clearly shooting % has something to do with offensive rebounding opportunities. Aren't UT and UF at the top in shooting %?

I'm sure there's a way to merge these two stats together to get a better look at true offensive rebounding stats.

as small as we are, the fact that we have 2 players in the top twelve in rebounding is awesome, not to mention we are only getting outrebounded by 2.2 a game, and haven't we improved a bit on this stat since the last time this was posted. the team turnover margin is still pretty heavily in our favor though and when you create 6 more turnovers than you commit, that cancels out the rebounding margin (not to mention does a lot for team morale and momentum, don't think we don't get into our opponents heads when they can't even inbound the ball) So yeah, i think we are in good shape and regardless of being outsized every game we still tend to matchup well when the game is actually played

Yes, I suppose best evaluation would be rebounds obtained as a percetnage of opportunities, i.e. missed field goals that saty in play. Don't think they keep that stat, though.
