I think he would be crazy to leave Florida. What coach is in a better situation?... Florida is loaded with talent, his in-state rivals are in such disarray, and the only coach in the SEC that has "so far" proven to be his equal is Saban.

But, to answer the question, no, I don't think that he is preparing a run at the pros, IMO.

Side note:
If Lane can average an SEC title every 6 years and average no less then third place (East Division) in off years, that has to be considered a successful tenure given SEC quality and strength of the coaches/players.

I tend to think he might be changing it because he knows that he will not always have versatile QB's like TT that can run/pass like he does. Perhaps its only me but I see a few coaches starting to fade from the spread and go back to a conventional attack. After seeing what SEC defenses have done to spread attacks (oklahoma, Texas Tech) perhaps it will be a growing trend.

Perhaps I am just rambling without any real proof, but its something I have thought about.

I don't think he is changing it to become a pro-coach, could be wrong.

I'd be surprised if he changed it much at all. He's been running the same offense with different players since Bowling Green.

With Brantley they will be a lil more pass oriented..thats all..Urbs would never make it as a pro coach..especially since everyone knows he's going to ND after next yr.
